Re: 0961: "Eternal Flame"

Took me awhile to realise what it was for, but quite fitting indeed, though I still don't get the title text. You mean you don't get "There's always the hope that if you sit and watch for long enough, the beachball will vanish and the thing it interrupted will return."? Don't you ever see...

Still though, if you would go and fetch your delivery from the storehouse you aren't even stealing, just trespassing, interesting thought actually XD. Although, if you're carrying a sword that probably won't really help you :D

The slopes don't form a geometric progression, but a b and c in ax+by=c do.

See the attachment for how the lines look like:

[Desperate :/ sry] Envelope of geometric progression lines

If you take a large number of gemoetric progression lines (just came up with the term, lines of the type a_nx+a_nr_ny=a_nr_n^{ 2} , which is equal to y=\frac{r_n^2-x}{r_n} ) they will act like an envelope for -\frac{1}{4}y^2=x , however I am searching for a method to find the second equation purely ...

Got to agree this one wasn't even remotely as good as the other xkcd comics  , except if we are all missing some hidden joke/reference, although I fear there isn't one.

One day sysadmins will definitely rule the world... that would be... if they would care slightly less about lolcatz and uptime. They have all the power in the world nearly, sysadmins unite!

Re: Physical, Chemical and biological time relay clocks

I guess I wasn't entirely clear, first of all, its NO HOMEWORK xD. The results don't matter (though we can win something small (not sure what)), its simply a project for which we will be graded only about how we participate (IB education is kinda weird sometimes). Now my (groups) current plans: &sdo...

Physical, Chemical and biological time relay clocks

Help me think up three cool practical clocks (one physical, one chemical and one biological) which should altogether measure a song of about 10 minutes. (Each clock being about 3 minutes), I am allowed to use motion, temperature, pH, etc. sensors, just about anything we have in school. (No pendula, ...

Oh well, it wasn't that bad, though the title text really felt totally off this time. Guess that's what happens on a fixed schedule now and then. Still it would be kinda cool to go trick or treatign with this excuse on the 30th.

Clearly, human-furry conventions must be held in the extreme north/south parts of the world to make up for the thickness of the clothing involved.
