Re: 1531: "The BDLPSWDKS Effect"

That title text was everything a title text should be.

It wasn't the same joke as the comic, but it clearly depended on you having read the comic.

It was an extra joke: logical, but orthogonal to the main joke.

But on a lighter note, is that bottom-left panel a reference to this?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Linux audio yet. While some of the examples in the comic occurred for monopolization reasons or something else greedy, I'm almost positive that the exact conversation in the comic occurred between audio developers at some point. http://blogs.adobe.com/penguinswf/files/...

My enjoyment of this comic was hampered by the fact that the vulture would have to expend as much enegry as any other kind of bird to keep flying, thus making it impossible.

Re: 0910: "Permanence"

I like to use exactly 6 digits of hexidecimals. This makes it fairly hard for people to figure out WTF the thing is when they come across just that text. It obfuscates it. For example if you saw: Servers found: Arachnoid Decussation a3e4ef Plexus Penis Myasthenia Falcon XKCD Which one seems like th...

RANDALL IS LYING TO US IN THE ALT TEXT.
He says "He had the hard drive divided into eight partitions". Forget the mountpoints, Windows only supports primary partitions, and those can only have four per drive.

I'm not sure GNU/Linux will solve your problem. It sounds like you are using "websites" that require Active X controls. They are sold (to PHBs) as only requiring a browser to run, but only one browser implements them: Internet Explorer. The truth is Active X controls are just signed Windo...

Wine has great support for that game, and you can use a GUI to install it if you want.
