Re: Let's Talk Money

You were the one who mentioned building a profile based on your purchases, but also needing credit for emergencies. Hence, getting a high limit credit card, that is stashed away. Btw, I'm surprised nobody else commented as to how credit cards affect your credit score. Is it different in other count...

Re: sick realization: you have negative dollars

I would suggest that capitalism itself is not known to work, and without all the government intervention in our markets, our entire society would have collapsed long ago. The incentives that capitalism is based on leads towards greater centralization of wealth, less equal opportunity, and a more au...

1. I'm a marketing consultant and fairly successful at it - will crack six figures this year. I can turn this into an agency and grow revenues further [...] 3. Although I have strong marketing skills, the thing that gives me the greatest joy is creating things. I make music, and I write. But I want...

Re: New to Coding

Can I get some feedback on whether I should learn how to code or not? Here's my situation: 1. I'm a marketing consultant and fairly successful at it - will crack six figures this year. I can turn this into an agency and grow revenues further 2. I tried to learn coding, worked my way through Zed Shaw...

Re: Let's Talk Money

Glassdoor estimated salary range is full of lies. At this point, I'm just doing it to get more interview practice in, but part of me says I should just politely decline. Glassdoor's salary ranges are completely out of sync because they average out older salaries as well. In fields like technology, ...

Re: Recommend Your Favorite Podcasts

I've been listening to The History of Philosophy, Without Any Gaps by Peter Adamson, a professor of philosophy at King's College London. Absolutely love it. Prof. Adamson goes over philosophers that rarely get even a footnote in popular philosophy books - Zeno, Parmenides, etc. It's at about 312+ ep...

Re: The MITT Cult

Alright how about this, every time you see one of these, you put on gloves and pull the fire alarm. Eventually, they'll get the hint? Lots of cults have persecution complexes (THEY are keeping the truth from you!). Doing something like this just plays right in to how "The Man will do anything ...
