Re: Have you published any books?
Self-publishing definitely counts, especially these days. There are far more tools out there online to help self-publishing authors, and given the way e-publishing has changed the industry, it's gotten a little easier to succeed AS a self-published author. (That said, there are also a lot more self-...

Re: Good Omens
I read Good Omens a few years ago after everyone I met kept getting shocked (SHOCKED, I say!) that I hadn't read it yet, given my tastes and some of what I write myself. Fantastic book. (Plus I'm a sucker for fun takes on the Four Horsemen.) I expect the creators of Supernatural are fans as well, un...

Re: What is your favourite book?
It's always been hard for me to pick a single favorite, but one that always come to mind when people ask me this is a little-known supernatural potboiler called The List of 7 , by Mark Frost (co-creator of Twin Peaks). Arthur Conan Doyle is the main character, caught up in a supernatural mystery wit...

Okay, so I'll be brave and be the first to say it:
Someone want to explain what formal logic is to those of us too stupid to get the joke?

Re: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim : Dual Wield Bacon
Why does the Dark Brotherhood always want me dead? I've so far played 3 characters. My first was a mage-type, the second a thief/archer (who eventually led the DB), and my third, which I just started, is a sword/board fighter-type. In every game I followed the same general path at the start (escape ...

Re: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim : Dual Wield Bacon
Stupid question: What's everyone's opinion on the slow-time shouts and the archery slow-time ability? So far I haven't used the former much (and it's been a while since I played with my character who has it), but I've used the latter quite a lot. I don't find it too useful, because as far as I can t...

Re: Who have you hated escorting the most?
I'm dating myself here, but the original X-Wing. There's an early mission where you have to defend the Korolev from waves of (I think) TIE bombers that appear on alternating sides of the ship. 75% of the mission involves shoving all power to your engines after defeating the last wave and hoping like...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
While you can run around knocking everyone down stealthily, but then the game will be 50 hours long and not very much fun , so it's hardly a case that needs to be considered. I beg to differ, sir. Taking the time to be as dangerous and stealthy as I can is half the reason I like DX so much. :D

Can someone tell me how far I am (percentage-wise) in the game, without spoilers? I just finished the 3rd boss fight. I'm afraid I'm getting near the end, and I don't want it to be over! Spoilered just for how far you are in case anyone else doesn't want to know There are 4 bosses, the last o...

Re: Farscape
I went on a binge a while back and got through most of the second season. I really need to start it back up. For anyone else thinking of starting, be wary of the order of episodes, I noticed a couple times the order Netflix was playing them in did not match the actual order. Most notably, instead o...

Re: Farscape
It's streaming on Netflix now, too, I noticed. (I've got the latest--I think?--box set, though, so I don't need Netflix, but it's good that it's out there and maybe getting more exposure.) Every time I see Wayne Pygram's name in the credits, I always have to chuckle. The most cold-hearted badass in ...

Re: Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon
Maybe I'm just not critical enough, but what plot holes are we talking about? Granted I didn't really care about plot, but I didn't think there were any serious transgressions. Well, my own personal fridge moment (and maybe I just missed something, but...): If Megatron had made his deal with Sentin...

Re: 0921: "Delivery Notification"
I think it's more that interfering with mail, between the point in which it's left the sender and arrived in the recipient's hands, is a federal offense here. Anyone not USPS or the recipient (i.e. owner of the box) should not be getting involved. It's more of a "stay clear" to other peopl...

I'd love to give my thoughts on the pilot, unfortunately TNT doesn't pay much attention to their own website. They've posted the pilot online, but the video freezes at 22:02--or at least it did when they put it up last Sunday, and it hadn't been fixed Monday or Tuesday. (I didn't check yesterday, ma...

Re: Kick-Ass Trailer
I'm glad that they're not trying to spoof the whole genre, we've seen how unfunny spoofs can be in recent years with the X Movie series. Far better that they're going with a genuinely funny idea like normal people trying to be superheroes and not completely sucking at it, while still being normal p...

Re: V
Well in the original the needing other elements was a smokescreen. I could see them needing food but is it really better to build a fleet of interstellar ships than to try and use those resources to up your food production? Are you kidding? Imagine how much they'll be able to charge on the homeworl...
