I mean, I have bones to pick with blindly ideological organic freaks myself. (And don't get me started on the "alternative medicine" crowd...!) But that doesn't make Monsanto not a Captain Planet-level '80s cartoon parody of an evil megacorporation.

I kind of have the inverse thing going on with Tom Petty - I keep discovering that songs that seem to me to be the products of wildly disparate artists that I don't know are actually just Petty and/or the Heartbreakers.

I may have learnt something new today, if I'm not getting the wrong cultural reference. Pretty much every time I've heard it it's been sung-along to (at least the chorus) and the fellow discotequers (to my ears, and thus do I also add with my voice-vote) go "wooOOH-oh!" instead of anythin...

Whats the point of a party-identifying senator who only votes with the party 50% or 60%? In an ideal world, to be the conscience of the party and help keep things from devolving into blind tribalism. In McCain's case, to give the press excuses to keep calling him a "maverick" even though ...

I really should get around to revisiting 2001 at some point - I mostly just remember being miffed at the fact that Arthur C. It's definitely possible for people to overcome difficult circumstances in impressive ways, and more power to 'em - but yeah, the pop-psych feel-good bullshit version of that aphorism has become so prevalent in the last thirty years that it's nice to see someone properly calling it out.

Beer makers are a typical exception. Fermention produces CO2 , and many beer plants do capture the CO2 and sell it to pubs. I'm still trying to figure this out. Ah, that's probably it - even if it's unusable at the listed minimum, it's probably more usable at 2-4GB than the x64 version, which means vendors can sell a cheaper base system without worrying about customers complaining.
