Re: The "IT DOESN'T WORK!" thread

gyuu... So, I've this regex (?i)(?<=(^|[.?!:;]))[^.?!:;]*?bel[^.?!:;]*?(?=$|[.?!:;]) whose purpose is to find a segment of a string containing "bel" separated by various forms of punctuation (e.g.: running it on "Various irrelevant text. Bel, do some stuff. More irrelevant text" ...

Re: Activation Email

Thanks, an alt account (read: borrowing a friend's email) fixed it, prolly just, like you said, overzealous spam detection. This isn't a company computer or anything like that, but I had to have my dad set e'erything up, cause I'm still fairly newbish at computer stuff'n'all, so...hopefully a little...

I recently tried to register on tigsource, but I'm having problems receiving the activation email, (i.e.: I don't). I've had this problem with other sites too, though none that I can remember off the top of my head.. Anyone know a cause/solution for this? EDIT: Another site for which I have this pro...

Re: Physics Car

I'm assuming you can't tie the string to the front and then pull it? Use a fire extinguisher? Coke and mentos? Maybe turn a can of lighter fluid into a jet engine? Put something (water?) in a long J-shaped pipe with a narrow end, and then as it falls down the tube and gets redirected at the end of ...

are you allowed to have "launch pads", or does it have to be entirely contained in the car? Has to be contained completely in the car, unfortunately. So no crossbows. Wrap a string around the axle, up over a pulley, and tie it off to something heavy. Heavy object descends, string gets pul...

Physics Car

For a physics project, I have to make a car that runs ten meters or so. I've a couple ideas already, I just figured, the people here are smart, they prolly have some ideas themselves. So, if you have any suggestions or ideas for a car, then go ahead and post'em. There were some limitations on the ma...

I'm counting 'with superfluity' as one word because its functionally an adverb with a space in it. ^-^ If its in some sort of unforgivable violation of the Rules, just tell me.

Okay, so, feel free to correct me if the analogy is wrong or whatever, but this is my simplification of the problem and solution, and the one that makes my brain hurt the least.
