Re: The Idea Behind Forums

I don't spend time on these forums often, and I post even less but I like them for a few different reasons: 1. These forums in particular are nice because there is a large group of active users so there is always stuff happening. 2. The people in these forums are generally nice and lean towards inte...

Re: Childhood misconceptions

Mermaids were 100% real. They just lived in the parts of the ocean no-one had explored yet. I also believed reincarnation was real (between my atheist parents and catholic schooling I'm not exactly sure where I got this idea - probably some silly movie/tv program). I was hopeful that when I died I c...

the single most biggest error - aside of some others - is cape horn being over 4000 miles off, on the wrong continent. This one also got to me. Re: Eye contact with strangers

Hmmm... I think it depends on the situation quite a lot. If I am somewhere fairly quiet and one other person walks by I will often look at them and smile but if it is somewhere crowded and an endless stream of people are walking by I don't bother to make eye contact with all of them. It also depends...

I've always wanted to try something like this just to see what would happen but I have a feeling it would render me completely non-functional pretty quickly. I have always needed large amounts of regular sleep. I think my best sleep pattern would be if I could sleep for 7hrs at night (e.g. from 11pm...

Re: Overseas jobs for Americans: thanks for any insight!

You could come to South Africa. We generally have a skills shortage for people of your level of education so you would probably find a job here fairly easily (At least in comparison to finding one in England/Europe). Pros: Will probably be very easy to get a visa/work permit/etc wont need to know an...

Re: nofollow vs dofollow

I suppose the point of removing it is to encourage people to comment on your blog. The idea is that they are more likely to comment if they are rewarded with a one way link back to their site. It can be good if you are trying to make your blog more popular/widely read.
