Re: Internet connection dropping out

Don't like to double-post, but I can't imagine this will be seen if I don't. I've done some experimentation now, and found out almost nothing. When he's out, I can use my laptop and computer at the same time, both streaming and downloading as much as they want and have no issues, so it has to be som...

Re: Internet connection dropping out

He's mentioned today that he's occasionally having issues, but somewhat different - videos will jump to the end rather than just stop playing, for example. That seems more of an issue with his laptop than the internet connection... We're both just sitting on wifi, and the router doesn't appear to be...

Internet connection dropping out

Basically, what it says in the title. I can't really describe it in a proper way - I don't actually lose connection (as in, it never says I'm not connected to the internet/a wifi network), but if I watch networking monitors from windows task manager or video information from youtube (for example) th...

Re: Screechings of the Great Unwashed (Meander to the Morgue

So I'm watching Traffic Cops, and the police are struggling to restrain a guy who's just knocked one of them out.. one of the guys later says "it'd be nice if someone could have helped, just grab a leg or something". I'm thinking, how involved with this sort of stuff can you get? I'm sure ...

In the end it turns out I don't have to, since we're thoroughly restructuring the program.. which is good I suppose, it's a bloody mess at the moment.

Re: The "IT DOESN'T WORK!" thread

I kinda want to get it to work for now, then I'll maybe refactor it to more sensible data types. For now though, I've got a function f' w c | (length w) == (length c) = e w c | otherwise = e (ext (f' com c) w) c (Sorry if this is all terribly done [also my functions/variables have sensible names in ...

Re: The "IT DOESN'T WORK!" thread

Haskell woes! Let's see if I can describe this properly... Basically, I have this: [([Char], Double, [Char], [[Char]])]. Let's call it [([a], b, [c], [[d]])]. What I want to do is filter it so that I have a list of elements where at least one of d==a. I know it's probably just some simple filter wit...

It's been a while since my last marathon game, but this one... ugh. marathon.png Some of the worst team-mates I've ever had.. it was alright in lane, we won almost everywhere. But when it came to teamfighting they were completely unaware. Eve and Cait were constantly running into 1v5s and throwing a...

Re: League of Legends

It seems like this is pulling is back to the issue of balancing for the general population vs high level play. At tournament-level, Talon/Pantheon (as two examples of AD mids) are just not viable. Unfortunately, the role of AD caster is one that (currently) just isn't working. However, these two can...

Re: League of Legends

As to Teemo, Kog, and Corki: Teemo has a bunch of problems and is played almost exclusively top. A "portion" of Kog's damage scales off of AP. If you play Kog AP he stops being competative as AD carry and starts being played as an AP caster. Corki has true damage but you're still going to...

Teemo and Kog both scale in auto-attack damage from their AP. Corki scales true damage with his AD. I don't think there's any real call for an AP bot.

Re: World of Tanks

I often wonder what my opinion of the Lee would be if I was approaching it early in my WoT career... as it is, after 3500 total game I know how good the tanks can be, and I loathe the fucker. I'm about halfway through it, but I can only manage the double each day before I feel like killing myself.

Blaze won all but one map, yeah. However I don't think it's a wide enough sample to see where they're going in the future. Re: The "How Have I Never Noticed That Before?" thread

It's probably just some stupid quirk of history. If you try to make sense out of English words, you're gonna have a bad time. You know how in the US are all saying "aks" instead of "ask" and putting grammatical errors in their music, well that's how I imagine Britain in the olde...

Re: League of Legends

New Eve is... meh. Still not really playable (or, indeed, played). In terms of damage she's a bit better, but her detection range is just way too long. The only thing she can do to 'ambush' is just run into a bush - which is easily countered by pink warding your opponent's lane bush (during lane). T...

Kennen seems to me like a very versatile champ. I've seen him everywhere (except jungle). Only problem is he requires energy regen runes instead of mana runes. I fucking hate Kennen. Yeah, TF is played mid now. Without a fully global ult, he goes mid so he can gank top/bottom easily. Also with the mana regen from blue card he can sustain himself so easily. Aaalso his old recommended items were a weird hybrid mix thing, which nobody would build anyway.

Okay, I'll give you that he's not been TOO troublesome once teamfights start happening, but I just can't handle him in lane. My most common top lane is WW. Ah yes, the Lee is one of the less good ones. It has a pretty strong top gun, but is pretty slow and doesn't have a turret. However, the American line is not bad later on.
