Re: "Single Ladies" Discussion

As hilarious as this was...

Gil-Galad throwing Sauron out of Lindon refers to the War between the Elves and Sauron. Sauron waged this war after the One Ring was created, in order to gain control of the Three Elvish Rings. Ergo, chronologically, the comic is very much incorrect.

Re: "Collatz Conjecture" Discussion

I felt really odd and geeky because as soon as I read this comic, I wrote a quick Java program to test this.

Then I came here, and now I feel... inferior.

Re: "Gravity Wells" Discussion

I'd just like to point out that I am incredibly overjoyed to see that Pluto is not represented. It might have been considered a planet when we thought it was the only thing out there, but like Ceres before it, it must now be considered just a small plutoid.

Re: "December 25th" Discussion

And since the American (or most an other modern western culture) is (or was...) religious, then inguess morals do come from religion after all. Morals are derived from our common humanity. We are not moral because we are religious, nor would we not be moral without religion or if religion had never...

Re: "December 25th" Discussion

Thirdly, you call religion evil. Without religion you wouldn't have a conception of evil. Sorry, but "evil" requires a moral system and morals come from religion. I'm sorry but you're a walking contradiction. Excuse me? I'm atheist, I have no religion. Are you saying I have no morals? Mor...

Re: "December 25th" Discussion

I've been a long time reader, but never registered until today to address some theological issues. I'm not an expert by any means, but I've done a fair amount of research and essays on the subject, so I'm sort of qualified. But first... Well, not exactly. Jesus never existed, he's just a myth. The c...
