Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

It is awkward, but a letter is good.

Today I game my mother a letter telling her I was transgender, and before she opened it ran as fast as I could into my school.

She still loves me. Now I just need to tell my father. ^.^

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

Sorry. I didn't think it was that bad of a slur, really didn't realize it to be much of a slur at all, but if it is I won't use it. When you never hang out with many people in real life you don't really learn too many of the social rules. :/ I wish I were in a bigger school or town at least... I kne...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

I might write a letter and hand it to them before I leave school or something... That could work and I could explain a bunch. And I know that they may think this is a phase... but I'm fairly certain I know who I am and that it's not going to change. I've been the same since I was about 10 years old,...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

*Hugs black dynamite* Hey everyone. I'm a 17 year old androgyne. I'm pansexual. But I kind of associate with being a girl a bit more... despite being physically a boy. It's where I wish I was born a girl, but I can live with being a boy. I don't know if I plan on getting a sex change in the future, ...

Yes I have, it still hasn't completely shown me that the two are equal. I'm fine with the idea, I just don't like supporting ideas without some solid understanding of it.

Re: 899: "Number Line"

The 0.999bar=1 concept disturbs me. Infinity is a concept, correct? It's not actually a number. So 0.999bar should be the concept of 1 - 1/infinity. If you're subtracting anything from one, that is not zero, you get a result that is not one. 1/infinity wouldn't be zero. It would be 0.000bar with the...

Re: I'm having a problem with the distance formula in physic

I see where I messed up. I thought the average had something to do with it... just wasn't sure completely how.

Thanks for pointing my error.

Would a mod lock this please?

I'm having a problem with the distance formula in physics...

So in my class we've been taught the formula (assuming we're starting from rest) d = (1/2)at^2. I understand the thinking behind the formula. Take the final velocity (at), divide it by two to find the average velocity, (1/2), and multiply it by the time again (second t). Makes logical sense. We also...

Re: 4-dimensional game?

Hmm... What about an FPS where there are four functional dimensions, but you only ever exist in three. This would allow for easy visualization, and still satisfy the requirement of four dimensions. Players will always be able to be seen as well, preventing players from spontaneously disappearing. Th...

Re: What is the mass of a feather?

If I had to make just a random guess on how to do this, get a bird, posion it so it stays still, and use displacement to get the mass. Remove the feathers, and find the new mass. Take the change in mass, and divide it by the number of feathers removed. Of course, this doesn't take dirt and grime int...

Re: How to classify alien species?

My class did King Phillip's Class Ordered Frozen Grape Soda.

As far as classification is concerened, I think that we should take their evolutionary key, assuming they have one. But who's to say that in another planet different rules apply, and standard classification isn't effective?

If two possibilites exist theoretically...

But only one ever occurs, due to pure chance (assuming chance is a physical thing, and something can be 100% random), does that make it true that only one is possible to happen? Or does the ability for something else to happen negate that in probability. For Example: Imagine a Universe where wheneve...

Re: public misconceptions

My least favorite misconception is that if you enjoy physics you want to get a job as a physicist. I can't state the number of times I've told somebody that my favorite subject is physics only to end up convincing them I'm not on the same career path as a physicist. Not only that, but the question t...

My school's VERY small, averagin 60 kids per grade so this worked out.

The seniors took the sixth grade history teacher's desks and podium and moved everything in the correct position in the main enterance.

In response the history teacher taught the entire first period in the main hallway.

I was going to say ask both an incredibly hard question, but if the computer figured out what you were trying to do the computer might answer the question wrong. Seeing as the computer is as capable as lying as the human, you could never ask it a question for the answer could be purposely wrong. Tod...

Studying problems, will someone help me?

I'm a freshman in highschool. Sadly, as much as I hate saying this, there are about two people other than me in my grade (very, very small school) with my level of intellect. Then there is a LARGE gap between the intelligence levels of us and the next group of students. It also makes me sound arroga...
