skill-based MMO

I've tried the most popular of these glorified social networks, including WOW, and I've just about given up on them. The gameplay is founded on mundane mindnumbing grind (like most rpgs, I guess), and I can't get passed that. I thought EVE would best remedy this with it's sheer depth and variety, bu...

Re: Metal

My main genre is thrash but I like a lot.

I have a soft spot for technical thrash like Coroner and Artillery. In terms of all-out metal, it's what I listen to the most. Otherwise I'm generally a fan of prog, avant-garde, jazz and electronic.

Re: Favorite Song

I have none, but I've known someone who mentioned The Nile's Edge by VAST as a favorite. An exellent song from a great album.

Some possible picks for myself off the top of my head:

Dream Theater - Take The Time, or Octavarium
Failure - Undone
Allan Holdsworth - Tullio

Re: Should I start taking ADD meds?

I've been twice 'diagnosed' with ADD, and the drug intake was one of the worst experiences I've ever gone through. Avoid them at all costs. So long as you maintain your health with proper nutrition and exercise, you're absolutely fine. I'm a day-dreamer myself and I get bored easily with mundane det...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

This board needs a "rants & raves" section to go along with the random.

Today's been a lull. I've barely studied for tomorrow, though it's going to be easy as fuck. Nights like these I hate waiting for sleep.

Re: Old School Fighting Games: Do I just suck?

The stiff controls of old-school titles are hard to handle if you're used to fast, fluid modern fighters. However, the games tend to be simpler anyway, and with a few hours of practice it's not hard to delve into and master.

Harviestoun ola Dubh is probably the best dark ale I've had so far.

Re: Music whore

Not sure what exactly you're asking. I have a huge collection of very diverse music, and I listen to all of it. There was a time I would voraciously consume music and spent hours just searching for more. Lately I've become disillusioned with music, and I feel as though I've been neglecting other par...

Re: EVE Online

I REALLY wanted to like this game, but like all MMORPGs, it just fell flat for me in a month's time. I hate the mindless grind, the lengthy traveling, the time-based leveling system. Fuck it.

I hope to eventually find an MMORPG that suits my desires.

Re: The Liquor Thread

I've tried an apperitif/fortified wine called Averna. It's not too sweet, syrupy and spicy. Great stuff. I've also noticed a brand that mixes whiskey with maple syrup. This is damn amazing as well. My favorite is straight single-malt whiskey, but if I'm craving a bit of a sweet edge, I mix 1 part br...

Re: Healthy Snack Foods

Well, everything's pretty much covered already. I eat what I eat because a) it's convenient, and b) it's healthy as all hell. Grab: -almonds -fruit, or veggies -tuna (with olive oil or other flavor, eat it out of the can) This, on it's own, will make you feel unstoppable. Raw foods with vitamins and...

Re: Coffee

I'm a fiend for straight-up quality coffee. Unfortunately, it makes me feel like an aristocrat elitist jazz-freak douche. I'm not above ordering "fancy" drinks, but I usually find them too damn sweet (so I tend to stick with unflavored cappucino/latte in such a case). Well, I'm not sure if...
