Re: Falling Asleep discussion (784)

May I point out what appears to be an alt-text Inception reference?

Re: "War" discussion (#769)

The alt text reference to a beret seems to be referring to the Existentialist.

Re: The Romantic Period

This is pushing it, but I'm playing Sibelius Symphony Two next month, and it's so... powerful. Also, Schumann Symphony One (in particular the fourth movement) is excellent. As a pianist and bassist myself, I would suggest Chopin, but I'm not sure how relevant that is to violists. Finally, you can't ...

Re: Concert (aka Classical) music

As far as modern choral stuff goes, Eric Whitacre is the man. His Lux Aurumque is one of the toughest pieces I ever sang, and one of the most rewarding. I just sang Lux as part of Eric's "Virtual Choir". To be released on Sunday! I can't wait for the next one, hopefully it's Nox Aurumque-...

I was unique yesterday, with a record of 19.45... I've gone down. Within our dataset of several hundred thousand visitors, only one in 359,591 browsers have the same fingerprint as yours. Currently, we estimate that your browser has a fingerprint that conveys 18.46 bits of identifying information.

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

My chem teacher, just today, shut a kid up for talking during his lesson, and sent him out to cool off before his hockey game, which the bus departed for at 2:15. He said to come back in 10 minutes, the kid did, all was fine and dandy. However, once 2:15 rolled around, my teacher said that the stude...

I think it's the "Early Adopter" theory- When people like Steve Reich, and Philip Glass first composed it, it wasn't hitting the general public, only the musicians.

On a side note, Koyaanisqatsi is cool.

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

In philosophy class, we were having a discussion on Aristotle's Mean Virtues, and shirts got dragged into it. Teacher: So the vice of excess of wearing a shirt is wearing too many shirts. Me: Would that make the vice of deficiency be not wearing any shirts? Teacher: Correct. Also, the Mean Virtue of...

Re: Entry into Philip Glass

I've been listening to more and more Philip Glass lately. I should be getting his solo piano scores recently and the film Koyaanisqatsi is incredible.
