Re: Where am I on the curve?

I too am a 10th grader, however, I am not in any form of Calculus . . . Geometry, actually. And not a very good class, at that. I am interested in math as well, along with certain sciences. Opportunities to learn anything mind-straining are scarce here. It is basically "plug and chug" - Le...

Re: note taking

I usually use college ruled lined paper, and graph paper when I am forced to for math classes. I actually like writing on graph paper more than lined paper, but I can manage with both. Are there any real benefits attained from using graph paper instead of lined paper? I suppose they have less space ...

Re: Awesome Student Quotes

Teacher: You got a 40 on your test. Student: Did that affect my grade? LOL, did someone really ask that? Is it, like, unusual that the outcome of tests affects grades? Depending on the course, it can be fairly unusual. Many tests are just there to indicate how you're doing before you come to an exa...

Re: Proper context in numbers?

Putting on your clothes for the next day before you go to sleep would be better. And slightly faster, because you wouldn't be drowsy when you are putting them on. However, you sacrifice hygiene. I'd much rather sleep in my clothes than not brush my teeth though. And, all the second person was pointi...

Re: Probability problem, roll a die six times

1/6 to roll a 6 in one try.
1/6*1/6=1/36 to roll two 6s in two tries.
1/6*1/6*1/6*1/6*1/6*1/6=1/46656 to roll six 6s in six tries.

But what you are asking is at least ONE six in six tries, which is 6/46656(I think.).

Failure mistakes.
