Re: 0923: "Strunk and White"

I only have one real response to this comic: *has a guess at what "The Elements of Style" is, based on the comic* *confirms suspicions via Google/Wikipedia* Wait...there's fanfiction for this ? Who the hell writes "fanfiction" about what appears to be an English textbook? And wha...

Walked in to make this connection.

Honestly, I should have expected to be late to the obvious Portal comment.

TBH, I expected some joke about lesbians when I saw the mention of a "female-female" plug.

I know it's a technical term, but still...

At least I was still amused by the lightbulb joke.

Man, I walked in to say that Knuth proved that the reader requested an amount of money equal to 98 cents by the reason of that other comic where assuming contradictory premises led to any true conclusion the thinker liked. Um...oh dear, how to contribute now...? I've got it! Poorly-executed computer...

In the alt-text, I imagined the teenager's voice as YouTube user NextGenHacker101. I raged.

In itself, the comic is still amusing.

Neologism? More like Neo-LOL-jism! Okay, I think I'm close. It might involve a malapropism...somewhere.... Not sure if you could call that a portmanteau. On the bright side, it definitely uses at least one neologism. How'd I do? Please pardon the crudeness of the joke. It sort of just...wandered int...

Man. Knew it was an Operation reference when I saw the surgery and the BZZZZT. Did not expect the joke at the bottom. Was greatly amused. Would love to see such a surgery happen for real (that is, some sort of surgery where the surgeon gets buzzed if he makes mistakes). RE: Alt text - Did this "...

Yes, I would totally watch this movie.

Once again, thanks to Randall Munroe, I will remember something technical that I previously did not care about. :D The number in ####{p, i} is the vertical resolution, and the {p. i} is progressive vs. interlaced scan. Also, to anyone who hasn't been bothered by high frame rates: have you ever seen ...

I've never taken Physics E&M, but I do know some of the symbols that pop up in the diagrams.

That may be why my favorite part of the diagram is "Not a resistor; wire just does this."

Okay, maybe now I'll remember that the backslash leans backward, because I will now associate it with Windows directories because of this comic. Of the two slashes available, one leans backwards, but the other one is drawn from right to left (top to bottom), which is backwards to my reading directio...

Hello. This is my second post now, after my comment on the April Fools stuff. Anyway, I'm a student at Carnegie Mellon University (and a native-born Pittsburgher). Choosing a major has been a bumpy ride, but I think I'm gonna settle on Statistics if next Fall goes well. At first, I had no idea what ...

Just registered so I could comment on this. I love the Unixkcd shell. I would love to keep this interface past today, even just as an option (that I most certainly would be using).

Sorry if I'm a little late to the discussion. I swear, I read most of the first page earlier today.
