A large part of knowing what a word means is knowing what the doubtful cases are. Stanley Cavell has a nice page on "chair" The Claim of Reason . As for sandwiches, hot dogs don't qualify because you eat them from the end instead of broadside. You eat subs broadside? What about PoBoys???

My first impression was that it was water, this made enough sense to me that I was actually surprised to see people thought it was land.

Dammit. First XKCD in a long time where I didn't get any of the jokes. I hate when that happens, but I guess it wouldn't be XKCD if it didn't. I used to keep track, but It started getting so rare for me to not get one that I stopped. Guess I'm going to have to restart the timer now.

Unfortunately, Randall has just corrupted his own data by making a comic about it.

The Google trends for anything he makes a comic about go crazy as soon as he makes the comic, so these results are probably no longer accurate.

Funny Comic. I cant decide if it is suposed to be a joke about how similar they look, or how pregnant women have a higher body temperature. Probably both, come to think of it.
