Thanks for the recommendations - I've had FTL for a while, so I'll try that out first :)

Re: I need a Game Recommendation

I've been looking for things to play while listening to podcasts, and a friend recommended I play roguelikes. My go-to one for a while has been The Binding Of Isaac, but while I enjoy the mechanics on that, I really don't like the visual style, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a...

Re: E3 2015

That touches on the reason why I'm almost completely disinterested in Andromeda, despite being a fan of the series. Mass Effect, to me, was a trilogy, a story that followed Shepard with a clear beginning and end - this is going to be Mass Effect in name and fanservice only. It should be a new IP.

Re: Fallout 4

Yeah, this should be good. Most interesting part of the trailer, to me, is the hint at player voice acting at the end - that's unprecedented for Bethesda.

Re: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim : Bacon Workshop

Not yet - Fallout 4 is probably going to be announced in a couple of weeks, though, so I assume they'll get to work on TES VI right after that comes out. Bethesda have a habit of being very hush-hush about their titles until we get relatively close to release too, so I wouldn't expect anything for a...

Re: Aglets of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I'm currently behind on Agents of SHIELD, barely started on season 2. Do you think there's a strong reason for me to try to catch up before seeing the new Avengers movie? Have there been plot points on the show that could be relevant in a significant way? I've just seen Avengers 2, there aren't any...

Re: Avengers!

Just saw it, and I really liked it. I could comment on a lot of things, but there's one feature that stuck out to me above everything else: It's actually a superhero movie. I can't remember exactly who it was, but I watched a harsh review of Man of Steel a while back where the reviewer comme...

Re: Hearthstone

Yeah, the adventure is really cool so far, and the new cards look like they're going to be really fun :D even though I doubt it's going to be properly playable, I absolutely love Majordomo Executus's design, and can't wait to mess around with him in constructed! Luckily I finally hit Legend with Mec...

Re: 2014 in review

Love me some FRACT OSC, but I can easily see why others wouldn't. I need to speedrun it at some point. My walkthrough video became more and more like a psuedo speed run as it went on. I can't leave that half assed. Follow up - I just played through this game, didn't click with me but I can totally ...

Re: 2014 in review

I was sorting out my GotY list earlier today, and I really felt like there'd been a dearth of cool games this year - which puts Transistor , my current fourth favourite game of all time, as an easy victor. I understand the criticism's it's attracted - the game doesn't explain itself well at all with...

Re: I need a Game Recommendation

Hm, I'm not sure those are quite what I'm looking for. I've already played the original Deus Ex, and while it was a fantastic game, it's not quite the same thing - for starters, I always feel a little weird about going non-lethal in games like that, because it seems like a really arbitrary restricti...

Re: I need a Game Recommendation

Just finished replaying Metroid: Zero Mission, and I realised that last bit where you're in the zero suit is still my favourite example of stealth gameplay. You're completely outclassed and can't kill anyone, and being seen doesn't result in a failure state, but a really fun and frantic chase sequen...

Re: Hearthstone

One really interesting thing me and a friend were discussing is how well Bob will do in handlock - given that the only 12/20 mana minions in the game right now are the giants, he's not even inconsistent there - just a guaranteed full heal on any giant. And yeah, I agree with that analysis - a good n...

Re: Avengers!

My bf felt it gave too much away - that ultron being an evil iron man robot shouldn't have been made obvious. Or something. He also didn't particularly care about the pinocchio stuff. Marvel trailers often look like they're giving a lot away when they hardly show any of the main plot. Iron Man 3 ha...

I'd like to see auto-filled journals (I told Johan of Tembler Village that I would get Six Pearls from Glendar Cove - Pearl Count 0/6) with a link or button that would also allow you to add your own text. Ideally, at first you might just use this to insert insulting remarks about Johan, but maybe r...

I've been watching that too, but I'm just never sure about Hearthstone tournaments (at least, not single elimination ones). It's such a luck-based game that none of the matches really seem like they're decided on in-game skill, meaning people pretty much just get kicked out on coin flips. Still, it'...

Nice one! Rogue drafts are really tricky to play correctly, because while the Hero Ability is great for tempo, you've got to keep an eye on your life total for the whole game - something that you rarely have to think about with the other classes. Looks like an amazing draft too, you've definitely go...

I HATE how tracking discards your cards... The usual response to this on the Hearthstone subreddit is to think of it like this - instead of Tracking looking at your next 3 cards, it actually looks at the bottom 3 cards of your deck. You get to take one of those cards, and the other two are discarde...

Shadowform is just better than average for an epic, because fully half of the neutral epics are garbage and mind games sucks. True that. Re: Hearthstone

This is true in the early game, but in the mid-late game Shaman and Paladin want to be using their hero power as often as possible, unless the opponent is a Hunter. The incremental advantage of gaining an extra minion every turn without playing a card for it is huge when it moves towards topdecking...
