Re: League of Legends

While I agree with generally what you're saying Elminster, the situation was specifically that he was an adc getting trounced by a Khazix in team fights. Ganking other lanes is usually not much of an option as adc until well into the game and if he was an adc with no natural disengage (not recommend...

Re: League of Legends

If you see the kha invis you can certainly just drop a pink on yourself or a little forward in his path. If not, then you couldn't see the kha in the first place and maybe shouldn't have engaged. If he's fed and your team isn't protecting you, then there's not a ton you can do. Depends on which carr...

Re: League of Legends

I think it's some combination of the two. Everyone I've heard of has gotten greatly reduced ip gains once after hitting a I. They've made it artificially more difficult to get to the next V because you can never drop from there (by losing at least). I'd think your gains should also be reduced when y...

Re: League of Legends

I think it's because there's no high level visibility of the "meta" yet. While a jungle would perform the same function, I think what people don't realize, specifically at lower levels of play, is that a jungle really isn't strictly necessary to win the game. At lower levels, a top lane 1v...

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

It's more than that It's a sacrifice (enabled by blood magic). Three lives for three lives. Drogo, Mirri and Daenerys's unborn child for three dragons. Ah! I knew it was 3 for 3, but in my head I couldn't think of the third (her child) so I just kept thinking mirri and d...

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

I think what was being alluded to is that it wasn't just any funeral pyre that birthed the dragons, it was blood magic, giving mirri's life (and maybe sorta drogo's?) for the dragons. I believe this is made clearer in the books. I thought they glazed over it in the show too thoug...

Re: League of Legends

Right. I was recently playing on a high silver account and noticed a much larger incidence of those types of problems. I do think they're everywhere, but at p1 I'm getting a LOT more of those good games, and a next to none of the 2 afkers by 10 minutes or the guy who purposely feeds. You still see a...

Re: League of Legends

Yeah, arams are a fun diversion, but so many times it just turns into a 20 minute long coin flip that it turns out you pretty much had no influence over. I love the competitive games, the really close ones where everyone plays well and it just comes down to a few key moves, those are a lot of fun fo...

Re: League of Legends

Ugh. Spent basically all day playing yesterday just to go from 6lp to 5lp. My dreams of diamond this season are crumbling. The reduced lp gains/losses in p1 mean I have to win a ton more games to get through it, and I just don't think I have enough time for that. Really needed a bunch of wins yester...

Re: League of Legends

Yeah, you have to be really careful. When you have to do something to win the game but it directly and artificially makes the opposing team stronger, that's counter-intuitive and the definition of "anti-fun". As you pointed out, I think it'd lead to people holding off on taking objectives ...

Re: League of Legends

I don't think anyone is arguing to REMOVE snowballing. Like you pointed out, that doesn't make any sense, it would involve making victory unrelated to how well you play. What is being suggested is a "tone down" of the snowballing, such that comebacks are easier under certain conditions. I ...

Re: League of Legends

People are quick to blame someone else for their own problems. The jungler is usually the easiest scapegoat since they have the most freedom to move about the map and help other lanes from the beginning. I don't blame my jungler for my lane losses, though I will be vocal if we're getting ganked a lo...

Re: League of Legends

The thing about vlad is you have to have a team that supports him. His damage and tankiness are extremely strong, and his ult is really solid in teamfights. He relies on the rest of the team having strong initiate and CC though.

Not sure if you're looking for advice on the build, but you posted it, so I'm guessing you might? I'd say that getting an early RoA is the most important thing you can do. Re: League of Legends

I would say a bit of both. Re: League of Legends

Well the thing is that you're also a poke lane, so you need to fight fire with fire. First step, stay near creep waves so he can't hit you with a bunch of bounces. Next step, you need to outharass him with your poke. Zyra's range means she should be able to throw a combo at fiddle if he tries to com...

Re: League of Legends

My point was that there's not a "general" way of dealing with him. You need to deal with your lane opponents based on what your lane is. With varus, you should be able to easily harass fiddle during drains since you have GREAT backloaded burst and a heal reduction. Fiddle should be fearing...

Re: League of Legends

Preferably if you can counter pick it you can grab trist or mf for some heal reduction. Fiddle's drain heal will not be that strong, I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure supp fiddles tend to get fear maxed out first, so it'll likely only be level 1, which is strong at level 1, but by 4 or 5, you should ...

Super excited about victorious elise.

In every case I've ever seen, if you are granted a skin, you also get the champion, if you haven't bought them. Would be nice if there was some sweet reimbursement for people who already bought them, but I can't complain, free skin for a champ I like a lot.

Re: League of Legends

That's a tough call. You shouldn't really need a jungle babysitting you, and it's on you to try to win your lane and all that jazz, but it can be tougher than that. If their lane counterpicked yours AND they're getting frequently ganked by the opposing jungle with no ganks from their own jungle, it'...

Re: League of Legends

Everything always depends on a million variables, but I'd say it's pretty rare that a lane that's starting to lose wouldn't be a good place for some jungle support. Note that jungle ganks don't always have to be all in. If both of you going in against a trynd means he's going to kill one of you and ...

Re: League of Legends

Exactly how many wards you need is dependant on team compositions. As Lux I ward very heavily (For a mid) because she's easily able to avoid dying if she sees it coming and easily able to pick of people if she sees them. That feels like a complicated answer. Maybe someone will do better than my wishy-washyness, but I'd say it all depends on the circumstances, just to list a few - is your jungler up with smite is their jungler up with smite can you clear the area with pinks/wards or do you know that it's already clea...

Re: League of Legends

That seems about right... mid and top should be warding their own area to some extent, and jungle has great opportunities to be throwing down wards. ADC has a ward buying buddy with them, on top of generally being the most gold dependent role. Agreed with what was ninja'd above, there are certainly ...

Re: League of Legends

Yeah as far as I can tell lolking score isn't really meant to show mmr, it's just meant as a replacement for last seasons elo since they had a bunch of graphing capabilities based on having a single elo number that went up or down based on your rank (as opposed to LP which reset every division). Lol...

It would be extremely unlikely that would happen, you basically have to game the system like mentioned above with hotshotgg. ADC thresh semi-works and top thresh can also work. Mid janna can work. She's not ideal, but she's far from bad. Her shield scales fairly well, so with some serious AP items, it just shifts the focus of your team from having a serious burster to having more of a CC/peeler mage who has decent damage....

Two things I'll note. First, from lolking stalking, you have a 9-3 win rate with taric, and an 0-6 with janna. Maybe janna doesn't work for you, or maybe she doesn't work as well at this level. She can make some great plays, but she plays a lot more subtly than taric, and it can be easier for people...
