Also, the only real way to defend yourself at night now is with moats. Endermen can and will take apart any sort of walls or barriers you set up. Aaugh. You don't get to be a wolf in Ocarina of Time, or get the spinner or get a giant ball and chain, it's pretty clearly inferior. Twilight Princess is Ocarina of Time in the same sense that BioShock is System Shock 2, I guess. I haven't gotten any headaches from playing with the slider at about half way.

Just letting y'all know that the Aether mod is out, and is totally awesome. It's a floating islands type dimension with completely new blocks, items and mobs. It's everything Notch should have done yet didn't/hasn't with the Nether, you should try it.

Just in case someone doesn't know, you can get the DOS version of Dungeon Keeper (without Deeper Dungeons) off gog.com for $5.99, with DosBox configured mostly correct (and doesn't look too bad if you remember to use Alt+R to turn on high-resolution), which is how I'm playing it myself at the moment...

Yeti can't catch you if you're on fire. More importantly, they can't catch your friends if they're on fire, so take the opportunity to light them up as frequently as possible to account for surprise yeti attacks.

There's Perimeter and it's sequel, RTS games with deformable terrain which played a big part in gameplay. I've not played it myself but it seems like it got generally favourable reviews.

Yes. Cacti and wheat too, though wheat is very slow. It took quite a while for the tree to grow too.

For the problem with multiple portals I think the easiest thing to do would be to just not open a portal if there's already one active in that chunk, since you have to set alight the frame to enable them.
