Re: Vegetarian food in Singapore

I'm not vegetarian, but I live in Singapore, and a lot of coffeeshops/hawker centres/food courts do have vegetarian stalls which serve Chinese food. There's also a Vegetarian Society whose website has a fairly comprehensive list of vegetarian-friendly outlets: http://www.vegetarian-society.org/fdl

Re: Bradley Manning tortured

He said that Truth traveled the world. Nearly, everywhere she went she was shunned. One day she found a girl. The girl was alone, hungry and naked. Truth wrapped the girl in her scarf. Truth cared for the girl. Truth fed the girl and wove flowers into her hair. They became best friends. The girls n...

Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

You sir, are a bonafide genius! Your long shot has hit the target. I am reassured that I am not mad, but turns out it is an Alan Moore creation, so it is probably more evidence that he is mad. I'm going to buy a copy this weekend. I tried searching for "comic alien yoghurt pregnancy" as w...

Re: Explain your avatar!

My avatar is a picture of my last-minute Halloween costume! I tried not to speak to anyone all night but it was too tough to stay in character :( Also, I did not eat anyone with a mouth in my stomach.

Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

Hmm, this time I have a question. Around 5 years ago, my English teacher told me about a story she had read. It was probably in the genre of horror, and it was about a protagonist, who kept on seeing monsters at the very corners of his vision (masculine pronoun for simplicity's sake), and when he tu...

Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

^ You're welcome :) This one has been bugging me for a while. At school I borrowed a comic/graphic novel from a friend. This featured a tripedal alien that looked kind of like a kangaroo who lived on Earth. He had been thrown out of his home-world for, of all things, eating yoghurt during pregnancy....

Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

As a kid, I read a short story about a boy named Spit, who entered a go-cart race and ended up crashing his go-cart and dying. I'm pretty sure the boy was a street urchin. On a less vague note, I also read a book about three siblings, the youngest of whom had a large number of cats. The kids are le...

This obviously calls for a duel to restore my honour. Meet me at the clocktower, at high noon.

(Actually, I just tend to edit my posts a lot without refreshing the page, sorry :P)

Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

I am failing so hard at Google-fu right now. I remember reading a short story about... well, I'm fairly certain it involved a train station and a big pantheon of gods. I read it about the same time as American Gods, I think, which leads me to believe it's Gaiman, but Google doesn't turn anything up...
