Re: What to do with old crap?

I would look into what you would get for them on eBay.

Or, if you're after something cool to do with them, you could attempt to gut them and turn them into digital photo frames...

Re: Awesome Thread: awesome

I have to agree with you about swimming. The good old lay down in the pool is fantastic.

I'd also say stack amps are awesome. Being attacked by a 'heck load' of guitar to the chest is enough to make me happy for the day!

Re: I'm doing science, and I need test subjects.

Screw fruit guys, any part of a plant is a vegetable, including the fruit. Am I the only one who said carrot? I didn't put together the username thing at all. You're not the only one. Carrot was the first thing I thought of, making me wonder what hypothesis we could possibly be testing. [/q...

Google Chrome issues resolved...

After years of Chrome working fine, I suddenly found that my laptop began to take a good 30 seconds to open Chrome, and then I found a lot of other people on the internet who suffered from the same issue. It was also suffering from extremely common Shockwave Flash crashes. I tried many things that G...

Uses for steel on aircraft?

Hey all, just doing some work on my Aircraft Materials module and can only think of one use for steel, the landing gear, due to its good resistance to metal fatigue from shock and vibrations.

Any help?

Re: Opera, Chrome, Firefox, OR?

For a very long time, I touted Firefox as the best option for people wanting less hassle whilst browsing the internet. For sometime that then changed to Safari, then Opera. But now, I am the proud user of Google Chrome. It feels so clean, fast and efficient. I also like it for it's bookmarks system,...

Excellent picture. But I wouldn't mind taking a look at Windows Mobile 7, looks rather different.

Re: New laptop

I'd make sure you download and then run CCleaner and Defraggler maybe once a month or two.

Download spybot search and destroy to immunize your system against lots of backdoor threats.

Be sensible when clicking links to unknown websites.

They're going to be very displeased with the result if that happens. I'm fairly certain they couldn't legally do that though.

Re: Speeding up your computer

Get Ccleaner, Defraggler and Spybot: Search and Destroy.

Those three should speed up your computer to about it's original speed.

Re: Gaming PC Specs...

You might want to consider a motherboard that supports higher speed PCIE slots and has three-channel ram. It'll give you the most upgrade potential without much more cost. One specifically designed for crossfire couldn't hurt. I second the multiple hard drive suggestion. It's just so much easier to...

I'm rather annoyed that there isn't... American users always use Newegg for its good prices. I feel as if I'm missing out!

Gaming PC Specs...

So all, I think I've finally settled on some computer specs. I've decided to make it all myself rather than buying pre-built. Gaming Rig Processor - Intel i5 750 @ 2.66ghz £159 Motherboard - Asus 1156 P7P55D S/L £96.24 Ram - Corsair DDR3 2x2GB 1600mhz £88.12 Case - Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer ...

Re: Which computer should I go for?

In the best case, the GTX460 768 is a little less than 1.5x as fast as a 5770 at 1920x1200. If you want to play any current game pretty much maxed out at 1920x1200, get the 460. If you play at 1680x1050 or below and/or don't mind dropping the quality sliders down a notch or two, grab the 5770. In t...

Re: Which computer should I go for?

Wait, you are going pre-built because you aren't sure about part prices? What do you mean by premiums? The fact that vendors get parts cheaper than you can? The premium for assembly usually cancels that out in most cases. The best way to go for a gaming box is a DIY Windows machine. We can help you...

Which computer should I go for?

Hey all, I'm looking at getting a better gaming computer and don't mind paying a tad extra for a pre-built one. I am rather well educated on computer systems after doing A-Level computing and also being a life-time tinkerer, but I'm not too sure on part prices and premiums. I'm currently looking at ...

It's greatly annoying how it's meaning is misconceived. But to be honest, Apple furthered peoples misconceptions with their add campaign separating "Macs and PCs ".

Re: Alien Swarm

I downloaded Alien Swarm and played a bit offline, at least until my friends get around to downloading it.

I must say I had an excellent time playing it. It offered a few different features other than just shooting, such as welding doors closed behind you. Which adds a tad of strategy.
