It's certainly not difficult to do. This sounds a lot like a marketing decision. I don't think many people would avoid the movie if it had ten extra lines in Spanish.

Re: RELATIVITY QUESTIONS! (and other common queries)

There are plenty of time dilation calculators online if you just google them, which you can use to get close to the correct result (didn't see one that goes by "enter time dilation factor > get velocity"). You can also just look at the formula for time dilation and solve for a ratio of 1/2...

OK, I get what you're saying and of course it makes a lot of sense (though, the US isn't vastly richer than the UK, Canada, Germany, etc. Israel isn't a particularly poor country either). Of course, change would be difficult. My comment was mostly directed at ucim, who said these plans aren't sustai...

There are many countries that have had a stable universal healthcare system for years, I'm not sure why the US can't adopt those. Like, Israel's system isn't perfect (it's just one I know well) and it's much better and much more accessible.

Alex made a sort-of veggie coq au vin. He asked me to get a rutabaga and used that. Unfortunately it didn't really end up cooked-through and it's a bit too crunchy... Maybe it softened after a night in the fridge, and possibly while heating in the microwave. Oh well.

I really liked the lima beans (lima or butter beans? Don't know the difference) in the soup we made last weekend, so Saturday I made a curry-ish dish with them and some chickpeas. There's also a difference between what we consider sufficient evidence in physics compared to medicine. If I let go of a stone 10,000 from the top of a building and each time it falls straight down to the ground, but the 10,001 time it just drifts down like a feather, that's very different from medi...

Re: Is All Evidence Statistical?

I don't know if the term "statistical evidence" is a thing. Ideally, all theories would be supported by empirical (i.e. measured) evidence. In many cases we'd want to perform statistical analysis to see if the results we have are statistically significant.

I'm not sure you need to read it before you see the movie, though. There are three main differences between the story and the movie: 1. The movie adds grandiose dramatic tension - there's no tension in the story. 2. The movie takes a gradual reveal in the short story and turns it into a plot twist. ...
