Re: Werstwerld (Westworld)

A fantastic Twitter thread by @Wolven discussing

Spoiler:
"Westworld works nicely as a retelling of certain apocryphal tales of the hierarchy of seraphim, angels, & humans, at the beginning of time, with Maeve as Lilith"

Also, the finale involving one major villain walking out of prison while the innocent black man goes to jail only added to the show's sense of realism.

Re: Luke Cage

SPOILERS AHOY I thought it was a fantastic show. I particularly liked how it built a strong cast to support Luke Cage, who's stoic nature could have otherwise bogged down the show. I'm not particularly familiar with Harlem, as a place, but I enjoyed it as the main focus of the show. One worr...

I thought it was excellent, visually stunning and quite touching in places. They did swipe a few of the main plot points from their own earlier film Coraline though! Of course typically it's not doing very well at the box office :( It just doesn't have the advertising power of other studios, so it ...

I went through something similar, and really fell out of love with reading for a while. I eventually came back to it by finding writers for whom reading their sentences itself was a joy. Like Amy Hempel. Regardless of the fact that I did end up enjoying her stories, I first fell in love with just th...

Decided to get back into this after maybe six months of not playing. Spent an hour trying to beat the Old Iron King, finally managed it. Now, I have no idea where the fuck to go. I can get transported to a place with a bunch of what I assume are graves and a door that is 'Closed'.

Fractured Space - Playtest a space combat game!

Hey guys, the cool tech company I work for has been given the chance to playtest a new game before it goes into Early Access. Fractured Space is bold, ambitious, and takes something we all love – epic space battles – to lofty new heights. Matches take place between two fleets of five players; you ca...

I have many feelings about the whole "People who have mental problems are actually really special and don't need to be medicated" trope. I honestly find it as harmful as the "People with mental problems are violent killers". So, yeah, was unable to enjoy that episode.

Re: E-Sports group separate men's and women's divisions

The general reason for a knock-out tournament is because its the most exciting to watch. Every game means something, so you don't end up with 'pointless' games where people who can't win are playing people who can't win. Esports tournaments live and die by their viewership, they're so expensive to r...

A fun tactic in pubs is to rush Radiance and then just Ghostwalk around the enemy team, especially during teamfights. Not gonna work if they communicate or have sense, but pubstomps can be hilarious with that.

The (6.81) series of guides that most characters have in-game are usually pretty good for learning, and often even offer some variations within their build, so I'd suggest rocking with those.

For SB you just want to be split pushing all the time, since your charge lets you jump into a teamfight from anywhere on the map with a fantastic stun at the same time. Also, if your team has some good aggressive warding you can catch your opponent's jungler in the early game, which is always nice....

There's a theory that I saw a little while ago, and have adopted: In the Captain America film, set in the 30's/40's, there's a little boy playing with a Captain America-style shield, whose name is Phil. It wouldn't make sense for him to be as young as he is when we see him as an adu...
