Re: 1502: “Wasted Time”

Ah, a problem I've had for a long time... typing faster than I can think, so I end up typing gibberish and backspacing it out...

I also open and close web pages repeatedly without reading them :(

Re: 1451: "Background Screens"

Heh I think that in Lucy there is a scene in a police station where a pc has a command prompt open with ipconfig displayed, to make it look ""hacky" i assume. I think I literally started laughing in the cinema. Worse is when they display impossible IPs, like 192.0.2.317, not realizin...

FWIW, this comic is blank if you're accessing xkcd via https. So, disable HTTPS Everywhere temporarily if, like me, you use that.

Re: 1318: "Actually"

Am I the only one wondering if in the "Actually, measurements suggest it's flat", the "it" is actually referring to the universe from the previous sentence, stating it's flat instead of curved?

That would make the entire argument recursive, rather than circular.

I liked the comic, but the alt text was what really cracked me up. The car is a stage prop :D

The first two panels kinda look like they're falling off a cliff.

I wonder if that was intentional?

When I was a kid and Pluto was still a planet, I was taught "My Very Efficient Memory Just Stores Up Nine Planets". I always liked to think it remembered more than just that, but oh well... I also learnt the "**triggery misogyny not found**" one at school, though I was too immatu...

Re: 0990: "Plastic Bags"

Here in the UK we pack our own bags while the cashier is processin the remaining items. I never got the whole US idea of the cashier packing bags to save time, because doesn't that just make them take longer? :\ Sometimes they have kids at the end offering to help you pack bags complete with charity...

guard.

Because it never looks right, especially when it has a capital (Guard), which makes me want to spell it gaurd until I realize that's even worse.

Yep... every time.

Re: 0854: "Learning to Cook"

The past 2 weeks I've had to cook my own meals as my mom's been on holiday.

Get out of my head, Randall? ;)

(Though, I suppose more appropriate timing would have been at the start of the two weeks, not the end...)

Re: "Adjectives" Discussion (#798)

Remember #739 Malamanteau*?

I just noticed there are no Google results for "fucking malamanteau" or "malamanteau as shit".

It's not an adjective, but someone should have tried it by now, and they haven't. Therefore, I'm trying it. :3

I registered just to say that a few particular songs I listen to have a bit in them that sounds like someone calling me.

Scares the crap out of me, every time.

This comic has been the best one in quite a while. :D
