Re: 930: Days of the Week

I really like "due on..." because it is such a regular shape.

I didn't expect Wednesday to be such a popular ladies night!

And this would make a really interesting app - you start the sentence, it searches and graphs the results.

Re: 0890: Etymology

I am able to forgive sci fi shows for their language, following the assumption that things must be translated for us to understand. However, I can never get past timekeeping in space. Why do they use the same units of time, when our time is derived from earthly phenomena they've never experienced? A...

Re: Running on Empty

I didn't like the first one so much (the joke isn't very clear - is it a support group? Is the joke that he just doesn't share?), but the second one is excellent! I'm glad you liked the one about keys Zohar - turned out to be my most popular one so far, but I really wasn't sure if anyone would like...

Re: "I Don't Want Directions" discussion (#783)

Sometimes locals have good advice or landmarks that a GPS or google maps can't tell you. But most of the time, this comic is the exact thought process of anyone under 30. I thought it was a bit wordy, but I really like the frazzled solution at the end - getting the address by trying to mail a letter...

I was going to go with notes via tones, but they are both anagrams of stone. Hmm, technically you could f ollow tones with tones or notes with notes...

I like the notes versus tones struggle!

GULP

Spoiler:
(wolf as in eat hastily)

This is a fun game but it would be better to stick with closer synonyms I think. A lot of the ones seem questionable and hard to follow (especially when changing tenses or singular/plural etc.)

Re: Eight problems for intuition in basic classical mechanic

9. (from Mythbusters) Are two identical cars hitting each other head on at 50 mph equivalent to one car hitting a wall at 100 mph? I think this depends on perspective. To the cars, no the impact is not equivalent at all (two cars hitting head on at 50 mph is like one hitting a wall at 50 mph...

Re: Of Joggers and Psychopaths

The people who figured this puzzle out on their own are very clever. I must say I had to check the spoiler, but I confirm those answers! Also, the pendulum not only makes physical sense but it meshes with the story set up. Since he was captured by trying to tie his shoe, it fits nicely that he is fr...
