You can write a small bash script that cycles through a set of pictures in a folder and sets them as your wallpaper. I used to think I have this on my blog but I don't so I'll write one later.

While we're on this topic, I've a 320 GB hard drive that is clicking at the moment.

I don't actually care about the drive and can throw it away after I copy the data over, any ideas? (Windows/Linux doesn't detect it)

So far Seagate hasn't failed me.

I'm using a 1 TB internal drive and a 500 GB external without any problems.

The external has been dropped like a couple of times and has been pulled without unmounting countless times.

It's best to leave the PCIe x16 slot for graphics rather than for the wireless.

Most graphics cards over the 200 series can drive two monitors at that resolution easily. And they're pretty cheap these days.

Those have two DVI ports I think.

Fast, really efficient, streamlined for your machine: Gentoo.

You need to spend more time to get it all up and running but I love the extensive configuration etc;

Get a solid state drive and put /boot and portage stuff in it, and you've the fastest boot/compile times.

My Morrowind (with all patches) runs at around 130-140 fps outside and over 200 inside even with MGE. I think I'm doing it wrong because I've a 480 gtx as well and the guy above gets 30 outside. Will check out the blog and do what it says sometime when I've time.

When you uninstalled Hamachi, did it leave the adapter behind? It's a virtual network adapter that it uses. Try opening "Network and Sharing" and go to "Change Adapter settings" and select "Hamachi Network Adapter" or something like that and click disable.
