Re: You gotta get into Dwarf Fortress if you haven't already.

Does anyone know of any reasonable speculation on when the next version of DF comes out? I read the development page fairly often, but I'm not sure how much more he wants to put in before updating the game.

A good build is wizard5/master specialist 5/initiate of the sevenfold veil 7/mindbender 1/archmage 2. I hate to nitpick, but the thread is 'favorite D&D class', not 'favorite combination of D&D classes.' Just sayin', 4 prestige classes with 5 levels in a base class is pretty specific compar...

Your idea is sort of a compromise between consoles and gaming PCs. Sadly, it seems to grab the bad side of each. The Cam semi-encourages min-maxing, partially because you never want to botch on a check you'll be doing often, so you make sure your important powers have at least 10 points before the roll/pull. Since you need 10 to get 1 success, you can never botch on a power check if you have KeyStat4 + KeySkil...

I don't see how writing a LOLCode compiler is any better than gaming. No one will actually use it, and you could write it by downloading the source to GCC and changing #include to I CAN HAZ.

The rest sounds like a solid plan. Good luck on your endeavors.

Two things, one useful.

1) Adventure! is a White Wolf game meant to do 1920s style pulp heroes. If possible, you might want to look at it and see if it fits your campaign idea.

2) I saw Steam-Powered and assumed Steam[Valve Software]. I feel silly.

New rules of riverside fortresses: build a grate to keep fish out of reservoirs, and cross the river by digging under, not building a bridge over.
