I'd have to say Blind Guardian. Symphonic power metal FTW. Mirror Mirror and Otherland are good starting songs. If you don't like those, you probably won't like Blind Guardian. But if you like those, then definitely check out their album Nightfall in Middle-Earth, it's widely considered their magnum...

Bush vs. Zombies

Silly president. It's not the zombies you should be worried about, it's the raptors!

Edit: Check the guy's profile too, there are two more videos, both priceless.

I started thinking about theoretical construction at lunch today. The problem is generating a suitable magnetic field to force the plasma into a vaguely beamlike shape. Well, that and compacting all these capabilities into a unit 24 centimeters long :P

*ahem* /starwarsnerd According to Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, the beam of a lightsaber is actually a closed, parallel energy loop. Energy comes from the power cell, is focused through the crystal, and emerges from the emitter in the form of a focused beam of pure energy...

While sitting in my school's (extraordinarily long) lunch line, I suddenly had the idea to turn the slinky I got in first period into an electromagnetic coil gun. A large metal coil, magnetized a certain way, preferably superconductive, and bullets that change their magnetic polarity at preset inter...

My physics teacher has a kilogram weight with a mustache drawn on it that he calls Senor Kilo. He also made a Dune reference in the title of the first lab he ever gave us. And he has a picture of Mr. T on the wall. And he once played rock music from the room's speakers while we were taking our test ...

I got a slinky in Web Design class today. Sliiiinky... Yes, I am easily entertained. Plus, while waiting in my lunch line, I started thinking about how to turn it into an electromagnetic coil gun. It'd be expensive, impractical, and all in all a waste of resources, but it'd be so damn cool . Edit: T...

Hmm... the first album I bought for myself was probably Blind Guardian - Live, about two weeks ago. Everything I've obtained before that has been mooched off friends or obtained through... less tasteful methods. Like blackmail.

I have it, and it is win. However, I do wish it was a bit more challenging. Or maybe that's just me wishing it were longer. I need to stretch it out somehow... I'm almost done with it already.

I'd say that at least 50 percent of the music on my iPod is video game soundtracks, if not more. Castlevania, Ecco the Dolphin, pretty much every Sonic game ever made, Guilty Gear XX, EVE Online, Kingdom Hearts, Metroid Prime, Morrowind, a bunch of Zelda soundtracks, and The Sims. ...this thread jus...

Didn't actually happen to me, but just a few minutes ago, my mom drove my brother off to the emergency room with a maimed foot. Somehow he sliced between two of his toes with our elliptical. Ouch.

I really can't offer any opinions that haven't already been stated, but I'll do it anyway. EPIC WIN. Alien vs. Predator vs. Transformers vs. Jason Bourne vs. Terminator vs. half the cast of 300 vs. Agent Smith , on a plane, in space. River + Burly Brawl = Too much awesome for one movie. It'd have to...

Greetings. My designation is Ishindri, and I'm definitely not a spambot. Or a raptor. I promise. Now that that's out of the way... I'm sixteen years old, and I live in the state of Maryland in the USA. I found the link to xkcd on a D&D forum, and devoured the archives in a matter of hours. Then,...
