I could not agree more, but if I don't get something that will suck for her to be the only one who doesn't get anything :(

Something awesome for under $8?!

One of my friends organized this "secret hanta" for me and like 20 other people I know or semi-know at my high school. Basically she gave us each a piece of paper with someone else's name on it, and we have to secretly give that person a present(under $8) over the next 3 weeks. The person ...

Re: Weird things that happened today

This is a really weird coincidence:
My friend, who is a hardcore online FPS player (CSS, Halo 2) is moving, and he just found out that his new adress is going to be 21337(can't remember the name of the road).
He is convinced this was divine intervention that reaffirms his 1337 5killz.

Re: Strange things to do in video games.

In Counter Strike:Source, in the cs_offie map, when I'm the only one left on the counter-terrorist team, and there are a lot of terrorists left, instead of going on a suicide mission to attempt and rescue the hostages, I do one of two things: 1.Go up to the vending machines in long hall, buy as many...

Heck yeah! Registration is open for only one class until 8PM tonight, then you can register for all of your classes. I've registered for "H645: Patrol" because it just sounds so cool. I'm probably also going for "H475: The Crash Course Course… To Go" because it also sounds cool....

MIT SPLASH! anyone?

SPLASH! is basically a weekend in November (the 17th and 18th this year) when a bunch of people (MIT students, professors, other people) teach a bunch of cool classes in various subjects at the MIT campus. I've been going there for the past 4 years, and it's really fun. You don't have to take hard m...

Re: How to present CS as awesome to HS students?

Oh me yarm I have the best idea. Use SL( Second Life ). It has a built-in programming language called LSL which is similar to java, and a simple, easy to use 3D modeling capability. It's very visual and relatively simple. Like you could build a model of a car, and program it to move around, the whee...

Re: Books you had to read for school that you could not stand

A lot of the books they make us read in school are actually not so bad, it's just that they overanalyze them to the point that it kinda kills my interest in the book. If Shakespeare heard some of the bullshit that is daily spewed in my AP English class, he would probably shoot himself. The one book ...

Definitley CS:Source. At one point I got so irritated that I decided that it was bad for my nervous system, so I downloaded a wallhack off of EMule, joined a de_dust 2 server, and headshotted 4 people. In a row. Through a door.

I am currently banned from VAC servers. But it was worth it.

Re: Underrated and Unknown movies

A lot of people don't know that a lot of hollywood movies are rip-offs of good foreign movies. The original foreign movies are usually better, even if you have to watch them with subtitles. Some examples: The Departed , a film that has been widely praised and has an 8.6 imdb rating is in fact a rip-...

I was born in N.Novgorod, Russia, grew up in Moscow, and immigrated to the U.S. with my family when I was 7. Since then, I have been visiting Russia every other year or so. Having lived in both of these cultures for a while, I must say that the cultural differences are immense. The generation that i...
