This stuff is awesome and i totally totally don't get enough of it, thank you for the recommendations in your first post. I wish i had any idea how microtonal scales and things worked, maybe i'll go to india and learn. I would love that. I've listened to some turkish saz music that i really liked. H...

Re: balancing a bass guitar

I don't know how you would do this because you probably don't want to fuck with your neck, but if you could put a bracket somewhere on the neck and attach the strap to that that could work. How did the horn thing work out? While you're building stuff you could build something like a long rod that ru...

Re: Post-Rock

oh Yndi Halda oh Yndi Halda how i love, their album "Enjoy Eternal Bliss" is one of my total total favorites. I agree that this genre is fuzzily defined? Mogwai says often that they don't consider themselves post-rock, too. I agree with that self-assessment actually a little bit though, at...

And Django Reinhardt! For the guitarist, but pianist you should listen to him too. Everyone should. Get some ol' Charlie Parker and some Clifford Brown and some Art Farmer and some Sonny Rollins and any iteration of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers (a good album is Moanin'.) These will get the bop...

Okay I got a new haircut today and people said I should post the pics. Here goes. I think it's too short personally. :? Re: Water in your ears ... best solution to get rid of it

Make a seal and plunge like a plunger? ow ow ow no thanks. What I always do is put the very corner of a towel in the ear, and sort of push it in so the towel jams up on the outside of the ear. The corner doesn't go in too far like a q-tip and usually it will i guess soak up the water or something? i...

The buildup at the ending of A Day in the Life by the Beatles and the powerful piano chord that ends it. That is so great.
