Re: Wheel of Time (Split from Geeky/Nerdy Kids Books)

Bad as the writing and characters were, I still enjoyed reading WoT. As others have said, he really constructed a great world, I'd say in more detail than Tolkien did. The simple fact that beggars in Ebou Dar actually have to belong to the appropriate Guild to go around soliciting is just one examp...

Johnny was indeed in Burning Chrome. You might be getting confused with Molly working as a prostitute to pay for her enhancements.

Re: I'm looking for a very specific kind of game...

You could take a look at Galactic Civilizations 2. Very much the game I wanted Masters of Orion 3 to be.

Re: New Joss Whedon Series: Dollhouse

Was it Johnny Mnemonic (the book version) that described a similar system, only it was a (largely) consensual arrangement? The Johnny Mnemonic short story by his Holyness the Great William Gibson was about Data Carriers, specifically Johnny. They were just people with chips implanted to transport c...

Re: WoWzers!

Hemo has been viable the whole TBC but it was heavily gear dependant, needing the likes of Dragonstrike and DST amongst other things.
Blizz just made it less gear dependant.
Combat Swords will most likely still kick it in the crotch just because of Blade Twisting.

Re: WoWzers!

I've been playing for 2 years now. Raided pre-BC as a Nelf Rogue. I rerolled as a Draenei Shammy when BC hit the shelves and recently I decided to reroll on EU, abandoning some good gear and a myriad of alts. I'm currently in the process of leveling a Blood Elf Priest and praising the powers that be...

Re: Books you loved as a child, do they stand the test of time?
