Re: Final Fantasy Omnithread - All FF, all the time.

Most of the game, story-wise, happens in disc one. The disc one break is just after Temple of the Ancients. The disc two break is after Diamond Weapon attacks Midgar and they use Junon's cannon to blow it away and the shield protecting the North Crater. I'd say there's plenty of episodesworth of mat...

So VII Remake is going to be episodic, ATB, not PlayStation-exclusive and will basically look like XV but with a scrawny spiky blond protagonist.

Looks pretty sweet.

In a twist to the usual dream (number 10 in this list ), last night I dreamt I was sitting a maths exam. Not only had I revised for it, I was allowed to sit with other school friends (dream-friends; no-one I recognised) around a big table, and we were allowed to talk quietly and play music in the ba...

Sweet. Yeah, it only rocks once, in a kind of exploding-Death-Star-shockwave sorta wave. Although I'm thinking it should just roll, now you mention it. A (science fiction) story I'm writing at the moment has a scene where something heats exponentially. It gets hot enough to melt through the hull of a spaceship and then carries on getting hotter as it drifts away into space, until it heats enough to cause a nuclear fusion reaction and kaboom . Then ...

You can do a fuckload with just a few minutes. And yet the seminal Street Fighter couldn't, even though it's been described as ' the Citizen Kane of movies ', with 15 characters squeezed into 90 minutes . Boba Fett is an outlier; a minor character that built up a massive cult following, probably du...

The rugby was thrilling. Two Welsh and three English sat watching amongst a sea of red and white, with all to play for.

No contest in the end. Strong back line and a Halfpenny never compensates for resilience and mettle.

Thanks, but it was music I was looking for. I found it; it's the SKiDROW crack intro for Lemmings on the Amiga 500. More specifically, it's a 16-bit rendition of Pachelbel's Canon. The opening noises sounds very similar to the Grumbling Fur song.

An unusual request! The opening track to the Grumbling Fur album Glynnaestra (Spotify link) (Grooveshark link) samples an early 16-bit 90s game intro (or possibly cracktro MIDI sequence). Does anybody know the game/cracker in question? It's driving me crazy!
