Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

Is the show setting us up for another Davos-style confrontation, or will D&D simply ignore it, having gotten lost in the brambles of their convoluted plot? My money's on the latter. The Davos confrontation was intentionally set up over several episodes and it just fizzled, can't imagine that ac...

Let's be perfectly honest here: most of those leave folks voted the way they did because racism and xenophobia. And you know that how , exactly? I only really know of two core reasons for voting Leave. The first is to reduce immigration. The second is to reduce the power the EU has over us. I think...

I know the story of the Rat King and it is very important for the North but that has never been connected to Arya. "Hey, remember that minor character that has never been in the same scene as me but a third hand account suggests probably told me this children's story when I was young? In that s...

Saw a new trailer in the cinema yesterday and it was quite good. I am cautiously optimistic but this is the first DC superhero movie I might actually watch in the cinema since The Dark Knight.

P.S. And here's the trailer. Apparently not new but I hadn't seen it before.

Arya, on the other hand, just did something far worse than anyone else on the show has ever done. Oh that's just nonsense. She cooked people and fed them to their father for her own enjoyment. That at the very least puts her even with Joffrey and Ramsay in their most deranged moments. Are you telli...

But "good" people (Arya kinda has slid into evil realms recently...) and Danny partake in cheap violence, and then the show expects us to be rooting for them. I think the opposite: where a "bad" person kills for decent reasons (ie: Hound) works a lot better. This is part of the ...

Very cool episode but not enough to make the whole season worth it. I think there was too much in here and they should have put some of the big scenes in other episodes. I don't agree but the biggest thing that comes to mind (Season 3 spoilers) is when Tyrion leaves King's Landing. In the books he is very bitter so he tells Jamie about Cersei sleeping around and lies to him about killing Joffrey and then kills Shae while she isn't defending herself. None of ...

Further on the Tyrion theory: I always hated that version- Tyrion is too much like his father. IMO the better version is the one where Cersei and Jaime are Aerys' children. There is a tiny bit of textual support and it also creates plenty of awesome parallels between Jaime and Tyrion (both w...
