Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

S7E01 Really Strong opening I think. I was eating dinner during viewing, and I had to put down my food during the long "Sam gets all the shitty jobs" sequence...I'm not sure it was necessary to keep juxtaposing the serving of gruel with emptying the chamber pots, I almost couldn't...

Re: The Dark Tower (2017)

Spoilery bits for stuff related to the books.

Spoiler:
My understanding is that it's not so much meant to be an adaptation of the entire series, but it's more meant to be a sort of prequel/sequel to the series.

One of my very favorite tabletop rpgs of all-time, Misspent Youth, is Kickstarting a new edition along with an awesome new supplement. Keep an eye on Geek & Sundry's Youtube channel for the Tabletop episode from this season where they play it. The video went up on Alpha a couple months and shoul...

Re: Great Steam Deals (And other Online Distribution Systems)

Just to confirm.

Is it still the case where games that are on sale in general sometimes show up as a daily/special deal? So if there are a couple games on my wishlist currently on sale I should wait and see if they show up as a daily deal?

No posting dark news, because it's not dark enough. And no posting happy news, because there's definitely happier events going on somewhere. Also, no being angry, because someone somewhere has far more cause to be angry. In fact, no emotions at all. Someone, somewhere, is feeling that emotion more s...

I have a friend nearing the end of a playthrough of Seafall. It's pretty ambitious and falls short in some places and there's been some times t...

I picked up Flash Point a couple months ago. Played it once shortly after that and the game kicked our ass. We chalked it up to being the first time and learning the game. Broke it out again the other night (with 2 players) and realized I'd done some of the setup wrong. I didn't think it was enough ...

Would Pandemic Legacy be good with two people, or should I get a larger group together to try it? I played through all of it with just two people (myself and my SO) and we had a blast playing it. Kitchen sinks aren't made to exact specifications either. The pipes under every Kitchen sink are basically custom-made by a plumber in every house. Its not very hard to cut PVC pipes to certain lengths and make a custom solution for everybody. Without standardization, it becomes incredibly difficul...

I saw it in 3D and he was definitely in uncanny valley territory sometimes. Some scenes were better than others. And I thought his cgi was better than Leia's. I'm guessing they spent a lot more time on him because he had more screen time.

As far as the TV show plot hole: Possibly a writing misstep. But also, it could have easily been part of the bad guys' plans. Not all plans are perfect or fool proof. Chances are they were relying on the distress signal not being ignored. Since that seems to be the convention or maybe even law i...

I saw someone say the Portuguese translation used the singular form of last. But I don't know if that was an official translation or someone making an assumption.
