Re: Hip-Hop and Rap

ronnie showed me a song by Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip . It seemed alright. They're awesome ; i went to one of their gigs a few weeks ago. Awesome indeed, but is it really Hip-Hop? Loving the beard, and I once served him and his manager drinks (which included Guinness :D ). The manager then spilt s...

As a Right-hander, I find the right hand does require dexterity and accuracy... Control of volume and tone, as well as avoiding mashing your knuckles on the bridge (I play LPs) which can be raaaaather painful.

I didn't think Matlab was worth considering as a language. It's a PITA.

It has syntax whose usage of certain symbols is different to the "conventional" usage of same.

Java 1.5 was quite a recent release when I learnt it so most of the labs were still on 1.4.2 and we didn't get taught generics until second year... I'll probably be learning better C and OpenGL in October.

AHEM. Having learn Basic, then Pascal, HTML, then moved onto simple Delphi (5 Standard here too), I had VB6 forced upon me. At this point I learnt as much ASP as I needed to turn my VB recipe editor prototype into a full(ish) project on IIS5. I then learned PHP(4) and learnt how to do HTML/CSS prope...

The P180 and successors were designed with help from the founder of this site:

Seeing as you'll be in dorms and may want to leave your PC overnight on to download stuff, a quieter PC will interfere less with going to sleep. It'll also be less annoying whilst working.

Re: The naming system in Western society (is messed up).

Take, for instance, Firefox. At some point, the Debian developers enhanced Firefox in parallel to the official Firefox developers. In order to prevent conflicts, they called it Iceweasel. This is fine, because in software, we don't name anything but the most basic utilities after what they actually...

During your training period, go swimming on Saturdays: It's a non impact, supported activity, and the extra blood flow will help your muscles recover. Depending what stokes you're doing, the swim should also help you strengthen your back - huge abs with a weak back (or vice versa) is a recipe for ba...

Use VLC as your video player. It supports Flash Video (youtube's format), and from my experiences plays most video files (esp HD-divx) far smoother than WMP ever could. Not converting to some other format should stop any further loss of quality. For downloading the .flv files: https://addons.mozilla...

Is your current mobo dead, or are you upgrading just for kicks? DDR3 will stay expensive until Dell et al jump onto it.
