Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Elf decks are usually pretty cheap, mine ususally does very well, and have never had to buy specific cards for it. That said a while back I did do a LOT of lorwyn sealed and draft which got me a fair bit of the deck, along with the prizes. I see a ton of elf decks; why have I never seen anyone play...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

The thing is: You can usually pick up commons for cheap at card stores. I know the local one here will sell you 4 of every colour common in a set for the price of a booster. Uncommons usually are around a buck for two. Rares are expensive, but if you're looking for cheap rares you can get them from...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

I mean "1-of" as in you have a lot of cards that you only have 1 of. Getting more copies of the cards you find most useful makes your deck more consistent. Oh, yeah, that makes a lot more sense. I can't help it to an extent, because I'm getting these from boosters. But, still, a lot of th...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Both of those decks have lots of 1- and 2-ofs. My first bit of advice would be to just have fun with them and play the hell out of them, and figure out what you don't like and what you do like. Then, well, take out the stuff you don't like and put in more of the stuff you do like :-P 3- and 4-ofs g...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Decklist time. Apparently my two main decks will be a white lifegain and a black lifedrain. If I had the deckbuilding skill I'd try to fix them into some kind of ignoble drain-gain chimera, but unless I found a practical method to turn soldiers into vampires or vice-versa, it's a bad idea. But I sti...

I'm annoyed that nobody noticed that the school newspaper's movie section was edited so that every movie involves Forest Whitaker.

The editor actually went over the article, and didn't see it, but still "fixed" Inglourious Basterds to "Inglorious Bastards".
