Re: 1190: "Time"

I am wondering - the general assumption seems to be that Megan built the entire castle which was revealed after the pan-back. But Cueball left first, and was gone for a while before she did. Who is to say that he didn't start the second castle? Just because he said "Bye" doesn't mean he l...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Have we completely given up on hacking the images out? Surely somebody could write a virus that will speed up Randll's computer clock a thousand times or so? If this had been a .gif to start with, or if it had been hacked/spoiled, most of us would've moved on by now. With a half hour of thought bet...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I don't particularly feel like opening #1110 and dragging all the way to the left. Could someone link/post a screencap/other image of this statue of liberty stuff?

Re: 1190: "Time"

Perhaps the two flags will both end up atop a new, larger tower that he'll build in between the two existing castles.

I was on an iPad earlier. just set the speed slow enough, I guess. Other than that, there's not much you can do.
Speed controls are at the top right.

Re: THE MADNESS COMES

Newbie here. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but what exactly is this an announcement about? Something involving the mods, but that's all I can determine. Uses word filters to change words/phrases into something else. For example, "lost the ga me" without the space. Turns into &qu...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Anyhow, dreadful scenarios aside, I think that satisfies my quota, and I can post an actual link I wanted to yesterday. Was listening to NPR while reading this thread, when this came on: Adam Frank, "How to See the World in a Grain of Sand" http://www.npr.org/blogs/13.7/2013/03/27/1746477...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Here's the deal: Have you ever spent an entire afternoon just lazing aimlessly on a beach (whether made of sand or snow or coffee), building a sand castle, standing and looking at the sea, sitting down, standing up, sitting down again...? The point is that time is subjective, as well as elastic. It...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Have you ever had a perfect day and wished you could make it last forever? I think you just summarized this comic. Congratulations, sir. Thanks. I personally would be very satisfied if it turns out that that's what this comic is all about--savoring the time we have. It seems to me the sort of state...

Re: 1190: "Time"

OK, the prior on the variance of the height of the horizontal surface just got broader. I back away from my pavement theory in light of ~1 pixel ripples that have appeared, most likely due to out-of-frame frolicking in liquid. It could be a very large ball pit basin, filled with ~1 cm diameter ball...

Because that's how long I assume must've passed in the comic-verse

This could be a lake or other small, isolated body of water.
Could be a wave pool, for all we know.

Re: 1190: "Time"

This is the third time they've both been looking out over the [unidentified body of water]. They started that way, and then there were a couple of frames of it before Megan left. I'm probably reading too much into it, but these moments always seem to occur when there isn't an obvious castle related...

I forsee that he'll join her, they'll sit for a few frames, and then either leave off the left side or just keep sitting there.

Re: 1190: "Time"

I feel like this comic is starting to get towards the endpoint. The changes got smaller, and now it seems to be panning/zooming out/whatever, possibly to reveal something off to the left. Whatever it is we will see, it's probably going to be the conclusion to the comic. I hope I'm wrong, because fol...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I don't think it's panning; only the left side of the frame is moving. The shoreline doesn't seam to shift; looks to me like the left side is getting compressed. If you look at the far left, there's a little patch of sand coming in from outer frame. It seams to shift relative to the sand below it. ...
