Re: Alternative ways to power vehicles.

i cant seem to find the article, but there was a guy a while back who developed an engine which recouperated its own heat to produce additional power, negating energy loss through both heat production and the cooling systems required in standard engines.

Re: speaking in tongues (what should I learn immersively?)

Japanese isn't worth it, at least in my opinion. I feel that for the difficulty in learning it, and the chance you'll learn the right Japanese to be able to communicate with someone you need to, and the fact that the only others learning are doing it so they can read their supah dupah kawaii manga ...

Re: speaking in tongues (what should I learn immersively?)

Neither. Kanji. As far as I know, it's Japanese words written with Chinese characters, or at least derived from Chinese characters. You can tell the two apart, but like Chinese they have characters that mean entire words or phrases. There's probably a pattern to how they're put together, but who kn...

Re: Missing Words, Words You Think We Should Have

I think there needs to be a word to describe the way that predatory animals attack their food as they're eating it. The word also has to be applicable to humans, in the sense that they are eating like animals. I really need a new way to describe the way that some of my friends eat. :) Also, is ther...

Re: Remove the prefix, get nonsense/ opposites that don't exist

The comedy group Tripod did a song about what happens when you take the prefix off a word and get an opposite that doesn't exist (lyrics in spoiler). So does anyone have any words that just become stupid when you take off the "prefix" or "suffix". Either because the word has die...

Re: New Zealand meet up

EDIT: if we take a car across on the ferry we only have to pay for a car i think, not individual seats.
