Re: Computer won't communicate with monitor? Wtf?

I have a problem similar to this with my POS MSI motherboard. Press power, everything seems to come on fine (all fans/lights) but the monitors never receive a signal and I'm assuming it doesn't post because I don't hear a beep. Usually if I leave it off for awhile, or jiggle some plugs, it will work...

Check permissions on the shares (chmod), I'm assuming you're trying to write to the "Bench share"?

Re: How many hard drives?

Matters on the 12V rail in your PSU more than the total power. You're not going to be taxing anything else. It also matters on how you intend to connect these hard drives. Are you going to put them in a very large array so that any read/write will be hitting all of them or are you going to simply u...

Hmm... that's odd... The computer (which is a desktop, not a laptop) seems to be functioning perfectly now... without a repair or anything. All of a sudden it just up and worked. Then again, while I was researching the problem (i.e. I Googled the error message), I noticed that some of the comments ...

How many hard drives?

How many pata/sata/sata2 hard drives can I use with a 350W PSU. It's an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ that I'm thinking of undervolting as it's just a fileserver, an nforce2 mobo, no videocard at all as it is headless, and no optical drives. I will need to add a raid card of some sort in order to add more dri...

I think my school had one 'bomb threat' while I was there. Something was written on one of the bathroom stalls that happened to have bomb in it and everyone freaked out. Symantec Client is nothing like any other norton product, the only nag it ever gives is if your signatures are 30+ days old. It is very expensive, but if your school offers it for free go for it, it is awesome.
