I thought only the US could have been this stupid. Apparently I am very, very wrong. Bonus points if you get them pregnant with a fetus that has <every trait no parent wants>. That won't be too bad, actually, as they will probably kill the baby. (those traits you mentioned includes serious birth def...

The numbers don't tell you how good you are. They "merely" tell you how good you are compared to your opponent. For all intents and purposes, there is no definition of how good are you, if you do not have any opponents, so that's the best you can possibly do anyways. MMR is an approximati...

The MMR is entirely devised to be a reasonable approximation. Okay, how good is a player with 2000 MMR? I am not familiar with how MMR works (blizz made it secret), but let's say we use an older system, the ELO. If I am 2000 ELO and my opponent is 1800, I will be expected to win 75% of the time. An...

If your opponent is on a losing streak, he may be facing weaker opponents than his league rating. Similarly the other way around. So to get a good feeling for your skill level, you need to look at the opponents your opponents are facing. But his opponents may be streaking to, so you should look at ...

No it does not. x=1 is an instance of x>0, but does not model it in generality, if you want to use "model" in any reasonably intuitive way. You can for example have functions that has a certain behaviour from 0<x<0.5, and some completely different behaviour for x>=0.5.
