Re: Today I Learned

Today I learned a ton of Japanese. I've been learning it as a second language for the past few months, so I'm fairly familiar with its mechanics... And I decided to test my knowledge by playing a Japanese copy of Heart Gold. I had to look up a lot of vocabulary, but I got through the first two towns...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

Here is the code page for the game, if you'd care to see the Flash source. It's not terribly complex.

Side note: who knows what おめでと means? It comes up under "Clear" when you beat the game, and I can't find it in any of my/the internet's dictionaries. :|

Expressions That Equal xkcd

I got bored in my maths class, so I came up with a (hopefully) new game: write an expression or equation that simplifies to xkcd, or something close to it(like xk+cd). The more complicated/convoluted, the better. :) Simple example... \int kd\, dx = xkd + c Are you allowed to nest limits? If so, this...

On every Facebook post, there's gray text that says when it was posted. I just realized that it's actually a hyperlink. :?

And of course, we can't notice if he takes a break, since our consciousnesses are only fueled by the rocks.

It's pretty interesting how the most random things can be Turing-Complete. :)

Re: Bioshock 2

I was a little disappointed... But I wasn't expecting much, so eh. My biggest complaint was the plot of the first 80% of the game: could the developers really not think of anything better than "go from one side of Rapture to the other"? If that damn train didn't have to stop every ten feet...

I usually get a comment or two when I wear my "Stand Back, I'm Going to Try Science" shirt. :) Though this the only shirt I have that consistently gets talked about... Apparently people like sharks high-fiving gorillas with explosions in the background. http://www.topatoco.com/graphics/000...

It's an event scheduled for March 14, 2015, or 3/14/15. Specifically at 9:26:53 AM, so you end up with 3.141592653.

Han definitely stands a chance against Mal, but River would drain his body of blood in 8.6 seconds. (Given adequate vacuuming systems.)

Touch-typist ever since sixth grade. Interestingly, that was also when I learned that you can hold down the shift key to type capital letters... Before that, I only used Caps Lock. :( And when I relax my hands on the keyboard, my right hand goes to the home row.. But my left hand snaps to Shift-A-W-...

Re: Numbers

This reminds me of something I thought up around december 5, 2007 (if file timestamps can be beleived). I wanted to know the "correct" number of a's in the interjection Khaaaaaaaan! Turns out, by crowdsourcing the information, that it was 8 with 8450 google hits to that effect. Full data ...
