I really don't get the reactions. I like talking with my friends, not talking at my friends (and vice versa). When somebody is absolutely not interested in a subject and you know it, talk about something else. Don't tell me you don't have multiple interests and multiple friends.

To me that approach sounds quite like he want's to play a martyr and then take it as a license bore people with his stuff. You should be able to tell if people don't care about the things you talk about and change the topic.
