Well, ok, I kind of know (not understand, but KNOW) the mentality there, but I don't think it makes sense... hassling the person you're attracted to by telling them they're unattractive, and then listing the unattractive bits in order. What's the endgame there? What's the gain?

Added 25% more baking powder, cut sugar to 1/2, and used a bit less melted butter to keep the batter a little firmer. Mixed it way less (automatic mixers are too easy to overmix with). Turned out super-fluffy and delicious! A little too toasty and browned on top, but that's not a problem. So great. ...

I have 40 lbs of white flour and 40 lbs of whole wheat flour to get through before I'm going to start buying self-raising flour, but I'll try the other suggestions. I probably am over-mixing and not giving it enough time to bubble up on its own before I toss it in the oven. Thanks!

Our first home literally doubled in 4 years, our second dropped by about ten grand. We figure we're doing OK so far, with no credit card debt and only one student loan. Now to just convince my wife that "5 minutes up the highway into the Highlands" is worth it for a house that DOESN'T NEED...
