- The City State occupies most of Highland territory by the final battle sequence of this originally Japanese RPG. HInt: Our hero is the young son of an old warrior who fought in wars previous. Dunno why, but I keep thinking FFX. Doesn't fit the city state thing though. The rest seems to work. I am...

I am a student in the UK (Norfolk in case anyone cares). Am currently studying for my AS-levels in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths and Further Maths. Which reminds me, I really ought to pack my bag for tomorrow. Hello all on here. I reached the point where just the comic was not enough XKCD for m...

is this not just 10Pn?

If so then the formula is 10!/(10-n)!

This is 3628800/(10-n)!

One feature of the formula is that no summation of velocities ever exceeds the speed of light.

Curses, foiled by Relativity!

Thanks a lot Spitvalve. That's helped me understand the universe a little better. It's a steep learning curve, but I think I'm moving along OK :)

You _always_ need a frame of reference. Thanks, I'll try to bear that in mind. I'll add that they are moving at 1/2 * C towards each other relative to an outside observer (say, observing from another planet) If I remember the formulas correctly, the apparent velocity of A (according to B) will turn...

[Physics] Blue shifting at 1/2 speed of light.

The faster an object, A, moves towards another object, B, the shorter the wavelength of the light that reaches object B from object A. The light is blue-shifted. This also means the light's energy must increase due to the higher frequency. The waves effectively get more compressed. If object A was m...
