Re: Something Vs. Something

So then let somebody else have a go. You need to reread the rules and take a bit of a break from this game anyway until you get a handle on how it works. Maybe go back through some pages of past rounds.

Hello thread!

I'm...a person.
I'm queer and I guess nonbinary except I'm kind of rejecting that term lately. And I run with mostly all queer and trans community, I don't have many straight friends.

Re: Words you think English should have or bring back.

I think that bitter and sour are different in that those words on their own can imply an unpleasant taste, whereas sweet and salty are more generally desirable. I mean lots of sour and bitter things are pleasant. But speaking linguistically, rather than culinarily. Of the four, now that I'm thinking...

Re: Words you think English should have or bring back.

I think there should be an adjective meaning "excessively or unpleasantly salty". The salt equivalent of what "cloying" is to "sweet". Because we need salt, but also shouldn't drink salt water or have a huge excess of salt, we have biological safeguards in place that te...

Re: East of Burheel: a Zork-inspired adventure

You wanna do a full inventory? If I were a computer and not a mammal, you would probably have to do inventory in order to count them.

I'm gonna take a break, and when I come back I'm gonna go through the game so far and figure out your inventory and hit points because I have lost track slightly.

(Turn 97)
You attack the guard with your sword and defeat him.

I've decided that the player character doesn't actually get a say in the ring collection, so...

You take the wooden ring from his finger and add it to the cord around your neck.

Re: Count by meaningful numbers

21 is the legal drinking age in America. Or at least parts of America. I'm not sure. In Ontario where I live in Canada, it's 19, and in neighboring Quebec it's 18 so 18-year-olds from here just go to Quebec to drink, but because American Tv and movies are so pervasive, the age of 21 still sort of ha...
