Re: 1190: "Time"

there's nowhere on earth that would allow someone to, on foot, walk from sea level to that altitude in the timeframe the comic has so far suggested. Well, I know a place where you can go from sea level to 4500 ft in 3 hours. They've been on the road for an unknown but presumably not to small number...

Haven't posted in a few days, so here are my thoughts. This either isn't actually the planet earth, or Act 1 wasn't actually by the sea, as we know it. Assuming the comments about "the air being different" and them being tired are supposed to relate to altitude sickness, I suppose we're n...

OK, so it is the sea. And it has risen nearly 2 cue in height? That's more than a drastic rise, that's more like a tsunami, albeit perhaps a slow one. There are places with much larger tidal ranges: http://www.co-ops.nos.noaa.gov/faq2.html#26 But then the sea behaving abnormally is why they set off...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Cueball talking about this device (and I'm very much sold on rule110's theory of a survey tower / surveyor's transit ) being possibly a weapon is interesting. It means a telescope is quite a bit beyond their level of knowledge. Yet he considers (or probably he's not really serious?) such a compact d...

I don't necessarily agree. Why two separate locations? It's simpler to have dust/glints/people in the same place. And "them" as referring to the collective people, who are the ones causing both the dust and the flashes. Simpler, yes. Still makes more sense to me when read as "the peo...
