Re: Mathematics for the inexperienced. (Namely, Me.)

Dude, I've spent the last 12 years learning mathematics and I still know basically nothing. You're not going to get much from a forum. You should look into doing some maths courses somewhere (I wouldn't know where). Unless you're just interested in finding out the absolute basics of some interesting...

Here's one that I'm not sure has been posted yet. A hole through the earth will take 42 minutes to fall through before you come out on the other side. However, it doesn't matter where the hole starts or ends. A hole from Canada to Australia will take 42 minutes to fall through, as will one from New...

I'm not sure how you came to think this. Fission is the splitting of an atom. That happens naturally with every single element heavier than lead, and quite a few isotopes of elements lighter than lead. Ok. I was talking about fission on the scale of nuclear reactions seen in the sun . Spontaneous f...

Re: Learnign English hasn't taught me English (rant)

In Australian schools as of the late '80s/early '90s, English classes have focused on analysing texts and different writing styles rather than the actual language. So if you went through school in that time you probably wouldn't have been taught the finer points of English grammar. I've been saying ...

Looks like you're using prosilver. Subsilver wraps the text so that the column with the avatars and stuff stays fairly small.
Increasing the avatar size wouldn't change anything in prosilver, but it would break subsilver

This is based on hearsay, so I don't know if it's true. Still kind of funny, though, so I thought I'd share it: There was this student who hadn't studied for a test. The test was multiple choice, so the student decided that since he didn't have a clue, he might as well answer 'D' on every question,...
