Re: Controversial opinions about food

I've asked specifically for a sorbet a few times when ice cream was available. I can see this happening if I've had a large meal and want something light, or if the ice cream flavors aren't very exciting compared to the sorbet.

Re: Controversial opinions about food

Has anyone ordered raw oysters from a really cheap hole in the wall restaurant away from the ocean(like midwest or far away from the coasts)? I've seen them offered before, and even seen people eating them, usually with hot sauce. Is it safe? Would you do it? I love raw oysters, and it would be nic...

I played a first game of Charterstone this week. It was fun. The first game was very limited in what we could do, but we still unlocked some new gameplay elements. I wonder how individual each person's charter is going to end up being.

If you're OK with high-fantasy (imaginary world, fantastical creatures, not too much actual magic things), you might like The Liveship Traders series by Robin Hobb. First, Robin Hobb is amazing - her writing is emotional, clever, her characters all well-rounded, no surprise plot twists, everything i...

I think when people think of art, they think of artists - the singers, painters, dancers. Not the producers, museum curators, or choreographers. Yeah, for every Beyonce there's at least a hundred people working with her, but I don't think that's what most people think of as working in "art"...

I think I was remembering a lot of the mailbag episodes. Anyway, yeah - it's a perfectly valid thing to like, it's just not something I'm interested in. I listened to him for a while but I just found him so unapologetically Straight White Man that I couldn't keep doing it. I felt all his advice was posted from a narrow point of view. Which he tried to combat and be aware of, yes! But it was just such a bro-y show.

They definitely had a few episodes with just her raising the sword and then just a shot of her as She-Ra. I don't think this show has reached the heights of Avatar or Steven Universe, but it also only had 13 episodes so far. I'm very happy with what I've seen. Obviously Catra and Adora's relationshi...

Que She-Ra, She-Ra

Started watching the show this weekend, I think we finished four episodes so far. I find the animation quality a bit low (not very intricate or detailed), but sufficient. That's the case with another recent (pretty decent) animated Netflix show - The Dragon Prince. Anyway, it's enjoyable so far! It ...

I find this conversation a bit naive about how lobbying and voting actually works. In this election in CO people had to vote yes or no on proposition 112. A yes vote means you can't drill or frack for oil or gas in CO within 2500 feet of residential areas, the current limitations are 500 feet. This ...
