Re: 1190: "Time"

UPDATED GRAPH: OTC vs. OTT Activity, "End of Time" 128-day version. This graph plots OTT posts directly against newpix ─ or where newpix would have been, after "The end." The more steeply the line climbs, the more rapidly we were posting to the OTT. This graph is again presented both with and without additional marks. This is absolutely delightful. There are answers in there to several of my questions about the interaction structure of the OTTers. I need to study this some m...

Throwing forward a firstpost from a couple pages back (his second post is identical, I think): I hadn't read the OTT today, and I guess I have to present myself. I am Tiago, the author of the Beanish language blog (by the way, it's great to have a domain pointing to it), and I am user Tresoldi in Wikipedia, just like someone guessed. I am really glad you liked what I did, but as someone posted here I am just developing on the work found on Wikia. I am not a professional linguist, but have studie...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Incidentally, I replaced my Cover Photo on Facebook with a piece of my colorized frame 7, so you can see Cuegan sitting on a beach with sunset colors in the background. (Actually, most of Cuegan are obscured by my FB picture.) Interestingly, several of my FB friends have "liked" the new Cover Photo. . .even though none of those friends are OTTers, and have any clue what it is or what it refers to. None of them have asked me why my Cover Photo has stick figures in it. :-) I guess they ...

Re: 1190: "Time"

A loose end in m' head; posting just because I thought it: I don't know if it is a coincidence, but the comic ran for almost 122 days, which is 1/3 of a year. np 1265 It's occurred to me this afternoon that Randall's Timing of The Event was fairly deliberate. Think about it. First the-frame-that-must-not-be-named wasn't some "geek" number (i.e. not computer related) and even the epilogue ended on a non-round number, so we couldn't predict the "when" of it from that. Second, a...

Re: 1190: "Time"

How did other TimeWaiters come to realise that there was more to this comic than first met the eye? I was online when 1190 went live (midnight, local), thought to look, and couldn't figure out what we were waiting for. Checked the fora, but of course there was nothing there yet. Made a mental note to check in the mornin'. Went to bed. Got up, found my way to the not-yet-OTT, and noticed immediately that the image had changed. Plunged into the thread and found folks decoding the javascript, atte...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Let's remember the thread's second posting: I can't tell if Randall is trying to be deep, or just trying to take a day off work. I'm quite curious what GLR would have done had we just ignored the comic. Anyone who's published anything on the web understands their audience is unpredictable--sometimes you post something you think is junk and it attracts lots of hit...

In any case, Davidy, for punishment of heresy, perhaps you would be so kind to just sort of wallow and roll around in the spilled chocolate, seeing as there shall be no dunking. Jowo, maybe get a mop or something. Sort of sop it up and slap Davidy with it or something. Dracomax can pelt Davidy with m&ms afterwards. They'll stick, don't you worry about that. Davidy, you had just better hope Dracomax doesn't make you dry off while sitting in the comfy chair. Mopping done. Slap! (Can I sample?)
