Means the Subscribe or Bookmark functions, probably.

Go to the bottom of the thread. Look below the "Who is Online" section. Should note options for Board Index, Subscribe topic, and Bookmark topic.
Changes its form depending on the observer.

The position of these links changes with the board style used. If using "subsilver2" style, they will be found at the top of the thread, just above the first post author.
