which looks suspiciously like xkcd art with a much less-good stick figure drawn in. They advertise on facebook and are looking for programmers, I guess. it seemed stolen so I didn't click.

I think they may need to give credit, but as long as they aren't making you pay for it it's legal.

I suppose that could be considered a "derivative" work; which is allowed under this particular CC -- assuming attribution/non-commercial of course.
